I've been scouring eBay and various other sites looking for deals lately, and I've noticed an odd trend.
There are people selling (and buying) Warhammer trophies (AoS, Kill Team, etc). And not just the glass or brass ones, the little bronze and silver medallions.
Is this common? Why would you want a trophy you didn't earn in your home? Unless you squirrel it away like Gollum and the One Ring, you are going to have to explain why you have a Slayer Sword on the wall, but your army is painted really poorly.

If a Slayer Sword came up (and not for an absurd price), probably. It's a bit of history. I have seen sealed prize packs on ebay for things like Underworlds i've been half tempted by for the novelty value.

When I saw the Underworlds one, my initial reaction was, "They had tournaments?"

It's meant to be a purely competitive game dude, it's whole thing is tournaments.

My local store never has tournaments for anything that's not regular 40k or AoS (and they are a Warhammer store!)
I had to venture to the deepest parts of Neverwhere to find a WarCry tournament.

Same reason people sell Victoria Crosses or Medals of Honour, they need the money.

Buy the trophy and then take it to the local trophy store and have your name put on it.
You should see my collection of bowling trophies. Who knew I was so great at bowling!
