I noticed there are a ton of great characters that exist in 40k. And some of them deserve their own models.

So I thought I would start this off by mentioning one of my favorite video game characters: Malum Caedo

The Veteran Space Marine from Boltgun and Boltgun 2.

Plus he's from the Ultramarines, and GW really likes these fellas lately.

Anyone else you can think of?

Two things:

1) I think that GW should, every year or more often, release new character. This character will have a name, a story, and may or may not survive the year. But most importantly, this character's model should be generically usable by their faction.

So, add Archon Andrea, give her a cool story, maybe she lives through the year maybe she doesn't, but most importantly, Archons now have more options.

We don't need more Epic Heroes, we need more generic options!

2) Ku'Gath Plaguefather. I know, I wrote that last line, but I love Ku'Gath.

Imo the narrative stagnantion if unkillable protagonists would be solved if gw just made all their character models like uthar the destined - a dual kit with a generic option. That means they don't waste money making a character if they kill them off later. They can still sell the kit and offer historical actions for the special version who is now dead.

But their need to keep characters alive forever to milk their merch investment is just really boring.

Cegorach!

Don't care if it makes sense or not, but we need this chap.

I just had an idea!

What if characters were like the Classified armies from Kill Team?

Where you can only use certain Epic Heroes for a specific time, and then you can't use them any more.

I wish they brought back Asdrubael Vect with his modified Ravager, the Dais of Destruction. So many other factions already have models and rules for their respective faction leaders.

Cadians, Sisters of Battle, Drukhari

I second this, despite my frustration with the number of Epic Heroes running around. The Dais of Destruction used to be pretty iconic model, and I would love to see an update.

To go with Vect, they could also give us

Urien Rakarth
Duke Sliscus
Baron Sathonyx
Kheradruahk

And for those who prefer generics:

An Archon and a Succubus on a Bike and a Succubus on a Board

... And here's the real kicker:

Not another Damn space marine unitl it's done and not another Damn Titus or Calgar EVER!

Did I mention Karandras and literally ANY Sister who ISN'T Order of Our Martyred Lady?

I mean, we *did* just get Malys...

What Jake said. Every drukhari character to have been lost over the years deserves to come back with the possible exception of Kruellagh to avoid upsetting the mouse. I'd also love to get a model and rules for that beast master lady from the Conquest Card game.

Also, Drastanta can come back with Karandras riding along with him.

Also, let's get Iyanna and Nuadhu back.

. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

They do; it's called "Codex: Space Marines".

The Raven Guard, Salamanders, Iron Hands, and Imperial Fists just rent a few pages.

I'd like to see CSM characters who aren't Black Legion.

Honsou - Iron Warriors
Barban Falk - Iron Warriors
Erebus - Word Bearers
Kor Phaeron - Word Bearers
Marduk - Work Bearers
Soloman Akurra - Alpha Legion
Kassar - Alpha Legion

Does Honsou get more interesting/less annoying at some point in his books? I gave up on the Iron Warriors omnibus halfway through largely because of how whiney he was. (And the rest of the Iron Warriors too, I suppose.)

I thought he had 30k rules? In a prior edition.

Also I’ll echo, not in 40k please. It’s silly enough without him walking around. 30k would be fine.

Doesn't in the heresy time he already on the stool, and only action is duel with Horus? Walking like big black sphere with already dead custards doesn't count.

I’ve not read all (or even most) of the BL books, so have no clue what they have him doing.

He was still alive and up and about until the final duel with Horus, where he ended up stuck on the golden throne for life support. He was not actively crusading during the actual heresy, as he was already chilling on Terra working on whatever.

But I would not put it past GW to make a mini that only could be used in one cannon event, on the Vengeful Spirit.

I read all HH I think, and he doesn't do anything. But yeah, GW could make collectible Big E

He had already retired from the Crusade by the time the Heresy broke out (hence why Horus was in charge). I think he spent much of the Heresy dealing with the aftermath of his failed Webway Project.

The whole war in the web way needs to be brought to life in 30k!

Plus in HH 2.0 there's a bit that talks about the Emperor being the defacto Warlord if you are playing Custodes.

Sadly, they haven't released the rules.

But... for 40k....

They will eventually run out of Primarchs to bring back... and that means GW will need someone new to play with...

Unless...

They bring over the missing Primarch.... Sigmar!

Oh, think how much fun that would be!

Sigmar and a bunch of StormCast Eternals in 40k!

The dark behind the eyes.

I'd far rather GW did away with rules for special characters and instead just increased options for generic HQs so that you could effectively make special characters if you wanted to.

Agreed, but I think that ship has sailed.

No model, no rules and the loss of points have pretty much killed a lot of what we used to have for options.

Agreed. I kinda hate that I put together a counts-as Gravis Calgar, and I'm toying with converting some counts-as Victrix Guard and a counts-as Cato Sicarius. I refuse to use actual Ultramarine minis.
