got 2 questions. 1. IS this accurate to fluff and previous ones 2. is it really as good as it looks? http://www.joachim-adomeit.de/wh40k/spacemap/map.html

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal. |

This is pretty amazing. A lot of work went into it, so I'm under the impression that if someone went to all the trouble of writing this up, they'll have done it right the first time. The info I gleaned from all of that seemed accurate enough to me.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling, which thinks that nothing is worth war, is much worse. The person, who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

Looks like misplaced the maelstrom and Ultamar is too small. Other then that, it's alright.

Actually, the galaxy is being viewed for a slightly-off-center angle, comparative to the usual GW depiction. The galaxy is essentially turned a little to the left. So the Maelstrom is in the right place, it's the viewer that's in the "wrong" place.
Ultramar is the right size; it's never been claimed to be bigger than the planets mentioned.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

The dyson sphere is found in the necron codex. It isnt listed as such, but any planet with a diameter of over 1.8 AU is going to have to take on the proportions of a dyson sphere.

The Dark Eldar "homeworld" is in the webway, not "real space". It's sort of like a parallel dimension.

A Dyson Shell is a system of satellites orbiting a star in an attempt to harness as much energy as possible, approaching 100%, from said star.
A Dyson Sphere is a *relatively* thin sphere based on the same principle. The primary difference being that the Sphere is meant to be terraformed on the interior wall providing an inconceiveable amount of habitable area which would harness the star's power in the same way that Earth does. Such a sphere would be built with a diameter of 1 AU, depending on the star, in order to create an Earth like environment.
Some related examples are Niven's Ringworld, which is a Dyson Ring. Also, on a much much much smaller scale, the Halos in, you guessed it, Halo.
The C'tan know as The Outsider, is rumored to be imprisoned within 40k's Dyson Sphere.

It's probably there, but I just couldn't find Saim-Hann, could any one point out where it is? I don't have my Tyranid Codex with me, but were Leviathan and Kraken really only 5 years apart? It says 992.M41 and 997.M41 on the map.

Being a Tyranid player who loves his fluffy goodness, I don't agree on Hive Fleet Leviathon's placement since in the new codex the hive fleet is actually coming up from under the galaxy with tendrils pretty close to holy terra
Automatically Appended Next Post:
And actually looking at this and comparing it with the map in the book which is also slightly slanted I would say, Tesla Prime and Tarsis Ultra arn't in the correct spots and have switched places. This map must be old, or incorrect.

They shall be my finest warriors, these men who give of themselves to me. Like clay I shall mould them, and in the furnace of war forge them. They will be of iron will and steely muscle. In great armour shall I clad them and with the mightiest guns will they be armed. They will be untouched by plague or disease, no sickness will blight them. They will have tactics, strategies and machines so that no foe can best them in battle. They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity.
