I am modeling what I'm calling a "Vet. M@A".  I've modeled on a maille coat and chose the bald head, but I can't decide what to arm him with.

Weapons:  I'm considering the regular halberd, though I use the halberd alot in my army already.  So I've the option of a spear, or maybe I should just arm him with a handweapon?

Shields:  Considering the regular Bretonnian tower shield, though I did give thought to the knights shield, or maybe the Empire Soldiers type shield.  Considering off handedly a round shield from I think Chaos raiders?

Other stuff:  I've chosen that bag with the warhat on it that hangs from the belt, but I'm not 100% sure how that hangs off the belt without looking akward; I will have to experiment a bit.  Also considered giving him the Empire sword in the scabbard, if I go for a "War against the empire" theme, or possibly some wood elf daggers...

So what do you all think?

Another way would be to simply slide the landraider sideways like a big slowed hovercraft full of eels. -pismakron

On thing I tried was to take a par of swords from the MAA kit, file 'em down a little, and glue them back-to-back at the top of one of the basic halberd handles. Came out looking rather groovy, if I do say so mayself. Mind you, that was for the leader of my all-plastic Mordheim Gang, so he was going down the questing-knight sort of route. Background-wise I decided it was one of the spoils of war from a campaign in araby, as it reminded me somewhat of ushabti blades.

I'll have to try that.

I've gotten him painted, just need to decide what to do with the shield and what to arm him with.

I think I have decided against giving him a "backup" weapon (shethed sword) for now, until I get his held weapon in place; I can't figure out how it will look right and now too crowded.

Pitty therer are no right hand swords...

*EDIT*  Decided to convert myself a pole mace!

Progress Update:

Not bad for a first attempt I don't think.  I'll finish him up and get to posting the pics of his pole mace of differentness doom.

Looks nice, but this is were my historical interrest kicks in. I wouldn't have hung the helmet from the belt, but rather on his head. Maybe even painted the helmet in the colours of the lord he serves. For weapons you could go with straight cross type sword, or even better a falchion. In case of a polearm you could consider a glaive, or a goedendag (a pole with a metal covering on the end and a metal spike). For a shield you could consider a buckler or a small kiteshield. For inspiratian you could ckech out this site, but a warning, it is in Italian: http://www.portagiovia.net/. But all in all nice job.

Hullo Ingvar, I did not know you where interested in Warhammer. We've met on the Armour Archive.

As for his equipment, I was openly pondering mostly because I wanted a bit of feedback on a campeign vet.

As for the helmet hanging, thats how that particular bit is.

Any other tips? I've decided that mantle gets bronze'd to stand out more.
