I'm looking for a quick and easy way to add cameleoline to my guard army.  Right now they are painted Codex Grey/Fortress gray with black helmets and body armor.  What paint scheme can i paint over their tunics and pants to look cameleoliney.

Thanks

I do the same thing. I handle it with fluff. Maybe I'm not sure what you're asking, but the obvious answer seems to be to paint their tunics with a camo style that matches the environment they're supposed to be in. Urban=grey, black, white Jungle=green, brown, black etc...

The all out crazy way to do it is to add small scenery pieces to the bases and paint them as blending into their base. There was a pretty neat diorama base made for a lictor looking like he was comming out of a cathedral wall or something. The creator just painted part of the lictor using the same colors and shading as the wall.

If you want to repaint them just go urban camo.

Another effect would be Cityfight terrain with broken brick walls, etc. that are concealing them.

Or an alternate way to do it is get the screen from an old screen door, and cut it up to make ghillie style suits on the Guardsmen. Blend a small bit on their helmets+kind of draped over them. Once you have it cut to size, paint Elmer's glue on the outside of the screen pieces, and roll them in the same kind of flock you're using for the bases. It tends to look pretty nice, but I've only done it two or three times.

I like the screen idea and may use it with some flock to make cloaks that I can put on my figs.  Only thing is, I'd like to find a fine screen that is a little more stiff than a door screen.  Ideally, I'd like to make a bunch of cloaks and then be able to bend them onto the mini and then bend them off.  Will the door screen be firm enough for that?

Im just starting to work on a guard army as well, and I found for cammo cloaks ,that if you get a see through cloth mesh and then coat it in elmers glue and then paper towel the exccess off and drape it over the model how you want it, you can set it the way you want really easy. then later on you can add a cowel and cammo and its already stiff.

also I suggest that you paint the back of the model first (if not all of it)
