"97-17 Warhammer 40k: Daemons - Soul Grinder $50.00"

Good! Actually cheaper than the defiler, didn't see this one coming.

"97-22 Daemons: Bloodcrusher Of Khorne $22.00"

Bad! No longer considering that beefy unit of 6, $132 is a bit steep

97-36 Daemons: Masque $12.00

Good prices. I've been needing to get some horrors anyway. Does anyone know what these will look like yet?

97-37 Daemons: Beast Of Nurgle $20.00

If these are mounts, bad. It would be better to convert my own using another miniature line or green stuff.

You do realize that the horrors price has not changed? It will be $20 for 5 figs. Currently it is $40 for ten figs. No change in actual price, nor in the horror figs themselves. They are the exact same sculpts. As for the masque, there are many pics of the fig on the internet, including DakkaDakka and Warseer.

Yeah, it'll be important to see how many models each unit contains.

Number of models each box contains:

97-08 Daemons: Bloodletters Of Khorne $22.00 10 bloodletters (plastic)
97-09 Daemons: Daemonettes Of Slaanesh $22.00 10 daemonettes (plastic)
97-10 Daemons: Plaguebearers Of Nurgle $20.00 (5 metal plaguebearers)
97-11 Daemons: Plaguebearers Of Nurgle Command $22.00 (3 command figs)
97-12 Daemons: Pink Horrors Of Tzeentch $20.00 (5 metal horrors)
97-13 Daemons: Flamers Of Tzeentch $15.00 - not sure, either 2 or 3 flamers
97-14 Daemons: Flesh Hounds Of Khorne $30.00 - not sure, I believe it is 8 or 10
97-15 Daemons: Screamers Of Tzeentch $25.00 -3 screamers, metal
97-17 Warhammer 40k: Daemons - Soul Grinder $50.00 1 soul grinder, plastic kit with defiler sprue
97-22 Daemons: Bloodcrusher Of Khorne $22.00 1 bloodcrusher
97-23 Daemons: Epidemius $35.00 1 fig
97-35 Daemons: Skulltaker $17.00 1 fig
97-36 Daemons: Masque $12.00 1 fig
97-37 Daemons: Beast Of Nurgle $20.00
97-38 Daemons: Fiend Of Slaanesh $20.00 1 fig
97-39 Daemons: Karanak $17.00 1 fig
97-40 Daemons: Nurglings $15.00 I believe same as now, which is two stands/bases worth, have to double check, though

As for units, that's going to depend on the game system. I'm pretty confident that the daemon army in Fantasy will tend to be larger (model count) than the 40k one. We'll see....

Just a couple changes, from what I've heard:

97-13 Daemons: Flamers Of Tzeentch $15.00 - 3 flamers, metal
97-14 Daemons: Flesh Hounds Of Khorne $30.00 - 5 hounds, metal

As for units, that's going to depend on the game system. I'm pretty confident that the daemon army in Fantasy will tend to be larger (model count) than the 40k one. We'll see....

Thing is, they cost fewer points in 40k now too. Max out on demonettes (6x 20) and that's only 1200 points (and $264) ... But the boatload of monstrous creatures I'm sure will sway many from the path of the truly insane demonic horde by sopping up points.

Hmm, let me work this out: Two boxes of Bloodletters at $22.00 each, -20% ($4.40), so about $39.60 at the Warstore. I can't wait till the pre-orders so I can get me some Bloodletters!

$20 for five figures? Nurgle and Tzeentch?
That's just stupid. Do they want demon armies to be only made of Khorn and Slaanesh? Once again, I'll convert.

Good thing I've already got around 40 of the old one eyed plaguebearers. I'll home brew some horrors, convert some beasts of nurgle, and buy a few of the new big demons.

That would be totally cool! But with the old models please!

Nah, thats just nostalgic speaking.

Doesn't anyone feel that the trend towards special characters makes them somewhat...unspecial? They seem to be everywhere!
I've read the vampire counts army book today and was sick of all the carteins already (i liked them before, mind you).

How is this any different than how the rest of the Fantasy metal figures are done now? Or any different than 10 metal figures for $40? Didn't we already know there were no plastics for anything but Slaanesh and Khorne as they were already the money makers of the metal models?

You should be thankful GW is holding the price for these models. I would have expected GW to *raise* pricing to 5 for $22.

YOU HEAR THAT, GW? NURGLE AND TZEENTCH SHOULD BE PROUD TO PAY $22 USD FOR ONLY 5 MODELS!!!

I have to admit, I can't really see how they can improve on the current Horrors of Tzeentch. Mind you, the Wood Elf Dryads show that they can do 'interesting' organic shapes in plastic.

Actually yes, they do. Profit margins are higher on plastic models.

Slaanesh and Khorne are the big sellers (which has absolutely nothing to do with their rules in Chaos codex 3.5) so they get plastics and everyone must buy them. Tzeentch and Nurgle should be happy they didn't get sent to Apocalypse. Yet.

So? Just look at the plastic daemonettes. I fully expect plastic horrors in 5th edition to go back to the "classic" walking the torso-heads with enormous hands.

Yeah, except the retro-look works for the Daemonettes. It emphasizes their inhumanity and daemonic natures, which the more aesthetically pleasing current models don't. I think the retro-look would work well for the Tallymen too, as Plague Bearers should be cyclopean, damnit!

Don't get me wrong, I rather loved the Tzeentch Horrors from the 5th edition of Warhammer Fantasy Battle, particularly the command models and the one that was playing itself as a drum. I just think that the latest Horrors (and particularly the Flamers) are really nice at conveying the dynamism and horror of Tzeentch.

It's a good point - I mean, the old walking head horrors with suction-cup fingers are fun and all, but nothing conveys change like a critter made of constantly wriggling, slimy tentacles.
