Pretty much all flying bases (for flyers, not skimmers) look the same, but I was wondering how you guys do it. Do you use magnets, or just drill a hole into the base of the plane? It is a hellblade, and its pretty thin, so i'd hate to drill right through the model
I I'm planning to use 5 cm wooden bases, but if anyone here has built them on this forum, please tell me how you did it.

Drake_Marcus: It's true- that's why the Space Wolves love termie armour so much. The whole "bear" thing they've got going on is just a thinly veiled cover-up of their huge, hairy cleavage.

If the model is light rare earth magnets are cheap and will get the job done if your stand is thick enough. The problem using magnets with stems is that they easily break of if they are nto reinforced around the top of the stem.

I am finishing my baneblade, subjigator and warhound before I tackle flyers so not much other experince to help you with there.

I don't have any fliers, but my buddies do.
They use large plexiglass circles as bases (about a half inch thick) and a plexiglass rod (also about a half inch).
Just drill a hole at your model's center of balance & insert the pole... If course, you want to glue it in, as well.

Plexiglass is, IMO, better than wooden dowels or iron rod because it's clear. It's less of a draw on your eyes.
