Howdy Dakka Fans,

You've been asking for it, and now you've got it. We managed to get Yakface on the show. And it couldn't be better timing as we delve into 5th edition after all of us had a chance to not only read the book several times but also play a few games.

We also get to talk with Yak about Dakka and his other adventures. We hope you have as much fun listening to this one as we did making it. Yakface was a great guest:

That was actually really thorough and interesting. Thanks a bunch for putting in the effort!

Excellent review, I am now really excited to get my hands on the new book. Thanks for all the time and effort that went into the show.

Two big compliments to shout out after listening.

First, Legoburner. The layout, ease of use and options of dakkadakka were what led me to sign up in the first place, so thanks for all the hard work you've put in. It really is appreciated!

Second, d6G. I've tried listening to a few different gaming podcasts and have always found the same problem (lots of well-intentioned amateurs umming and erming a lot). Your show is slick, well presented and held my interest for the full marathon session! Looking forward to the next one now...

This was the best episode yet! Very well done and great info. But who's this 'Yakface' guy? ;-)

It was good to hear that Russ enjoyed the games he played under the new edition.

It's been no secret that he's been dissastified with 4th edition, and to hear him praising the new edition was almost too good to be true.

I haven't played 5th yet, so this pod-cast was extremely helpful and informative. Keep up the good work, guys.

I gotta say, Russ, Craig, and garbage and transves....erm.... Hollywood! You guys continue to put out a high quality show. I sat and happily worked on my army whilst listening to ep9, and never noticed the duration. That speaks volumes to the entertainment value, keep up the great work!

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. Glad you enjoyed the show. Jon was a great guest and very understanding with how the process works, which is a huge help.

I enjoyed the show, even though I had to break it up into 30 minute snippets. That was one helluva podcast, in both length and information.

I know there's alot of schtick going on and much of it is inside, so that lost me in quite a few places.. How often do you all pull the curtains back to see the inner workings? Or is it just a "listen and you will understand sooner or later" kinda situation?

and the rapidfire thing, maybe it's just me and my age, but I couldn't understand a daggone thing the person was saying..

all in all though, I really enjoyed it.

That's the beauty of the podcast MP3 format. You can just bookmark where you are on your MP3 player and pick it up again later. That is why we don't worry TOO much about show length.

While the 'meat' of the show (i.e. primary segments such as D&D4 or 40k5th) we hope will be enjoyable to first time listeners, running jokes do start to happen based on content from prior episodes. We like these as they are little gems for our regular listeners, while also might be fun 'ah ha' moments for new fans who take the time to go back and listen to older shows. We do 'pull back the curtains' a little bit on our "Incoming" (aka mailbag) episodes. In those episodes we answer emails that often deal with questions about content in prior shows. We've only had one of those so far, but another is getting close.

Rapid fire is a bit wierd, I've added a new post on our site that tries to better explain it:

This podcast was long but well worth it. It was certainly good enough to get me to finally man up and join Dakka.

Really enjoyed that 'cast guys. Over the weeks I have come to the conclusion that II share Russ' predilictions for style of gaming (i.e. I am a fluff gamer, but I like my rules to work without torment) but with Garbage and Transvestite's (sorry... "Hollywood's") level of experience and attention span! I'm also 39 (40 next month) and losing braincells at a rate of knots, so prefer to allow others to do my thinking for me whenever possible!

Sooooo, I am allowing myself to be easily led by your suggestions and reviews.

Nice one!

Cheers
