Thought Id throw both my questions into one post:

1) What wings would you suggest using on a Deamon Prince? Im sure many of you have succesfully added wings to your DP. What did you use? Not too big and not too small...

2) How do I make sonic blasters? The box of noise marines only comes with one, and I want my entire unit to have em. I have a bunch of ideas but any of yours are much appreciated

1) These are the most commonly used wings, they seem to work well.

2) You used to be able to buy Sonic blasters seperately, but I dont think that you can anymore. Try ebay, they occasionally have them.

Malfred: Terminator Armor has always had room for extra boobage.
Drake_Marcus: It's true- that's why the Space Wolves love termie armour so much. The whole "bear" thing they've got going on is just a thinly veiled cover-up of their huge, hairy cleavage.

Well I kind of moved near Toronto, actually.

I was going to make them by having them go over the shoulders. Like a gun over each shoulder type dealie.

now HOW exactly I would do that, I do not know.

Really cool idea! Not sure what arms I would use though....

My idea was to use any weapon available on the EC sprue and build the longer smoother gun on that and then add some tubes etc. Ill post as soon as I have some WIP photos of that.

This is what I did for my noise marines. Gave them an organic, kinda fleshie bit. I used the Tyranid gun Death spitter, and cut off and attached them to their arms. This gave them enough of a weird, otherworldly look that fit pretty well and made my very pink/fleshy noise marines look different. I also just used a plasma cannon as the master blaster.

Here is a pic, you can see them in the upper right and side. Yeah, my army is extremely pink haha, but I wanted that flesh look to go through out it.

You can also see my converted obliterators, plastic termines, green stuff, and heavy weapons with a random bit from the apocalypse sprue which gives them this weird cyborg head.

If you need any other thoughts, shoot me a PM. I have a 3000+ painted up chaos army and I really like to do plastic conversions if anything else. Easier to carry heh.

Very impressive army.
How did you manage to paint them so smoothly pink?
I'm trying to use a black/pink colour scheme, but it doesn't work out very well.
Think you could give me some painting tips?

Multiple layers of dry brush, with washes inbetween to smooth it out.

I will be writing a painting dirty fast for Bell of Lost Souls in the coming weeks, explaining how I get my methods and ways to work through an army quickly etc.

But for the pink, I started with a black base coat to give a darker impression etc. White makes it lighter, and the same method works for both.

Start with the primer, then I paint a dark purple color on there. I use cheaper paints, due to the fact they are cheaper and have less pigment. The less pigment means I can layer more effectively and create multiple shades when I ink/wash it based on the fact the color isn't always super consistent. From the dark purple, I go up to a warlock purple (kinda plumb color from GW). I dry brush that on top. I then will go to a tentacle pink, do a light dry brush on that. Once that is dry, I take my red ink, and wash the entire model in the red ink. This starts to blend all the colors together, and gives me a nice dark recess point. I look at it this way, the ink makes the black this dark red, the purple a darker purple, then some parts are a bit lighter purple, then the warlock purple is darker, with some parts lighter, and the tentacle pink goes from light pink to darker pink etc. This gives me multiple shades quickly and effectively without having to paint each shade etc. Once I let that dry, I will go back, do a very light dry brush of warlock purple. Then I dry brush a heavier tentacle pink. After that I dry brush using bone white or antique white. Antique white is the cheap paint name, and it works well for dry brushing due to the lack of pigment involved. From there, I will take skull white and just pick out some highlights and the pink will be done.

I then pick highlight colors to contrast with the overall scheme to give more interest in the model. For mine I picked neon greens, but dark reds also work well as you see with my shoulder pads. Another great trick, is to take a thin point sharpie marker, and just black line the inner lines of the shoulderpads. This makes it look a bit more comic bookie, but it really makes the bits of the model stand out. I got that idea from Big Red from Bell of Lost Souls. I don't care what anyone says, anything you use to paint the model is allowed and is never cheating hahaha.

This method of painting can be done quickly and I usually do squads of 10 in about 2 hours with this style. Usually I can start one model, go through all the dry brushing and then be ready to hit the first model again. I would advise the cheaper paints for the antique white and base coating, due to the fact it is easier to control the amount of pigment hitting the model as you dry brush. You can get that 99 cent stuff from Hobby Lobby. Anything that is a main top color, would be better off using GW or Vallejo etc paints, since the color will be a lot stronger. I have just started using foundation paints for some of my base stuff and I really like how the flow onto the model as a base coat. Go for a darker color base coat and start to paint smaller bits innerward for shoulder pads etc, thus creating gradient lines which give the model a more 3d look. Check out my blog for some other painting stuff. I also posted a how too for my soul grinder [url=http://blacklotusarts.com/forum/index.php?topic=1925.0]here[/url.

I hope this helps.

That is wicked goatboy! Im guessign you used warrior deathspitters and not carnifex ones?

Deathspitters is much easier to find in bits shops or ebay, than actual sonic blasters.

That should be a great help.
I'll give it a try and let you know how it works out.

Awesome, glad it can be of help. I am always about making things cheaper and plastic haha.

I plan on writing up some more, quick and dirty painting stuff in the future. I strive to allow people to produce nice and quick armies that look good on the table. It is nice to see all armies painted, and with dipping and some of my methods, you can get a quickly painted army that will look good versus other armies etc.

Simple but brilliant. ^^
Both the gargoyleheads and the 'nid weaponry are going to be used as sonic blasters and blastmasters in my army.
I'll post some pics here as soon as I have them.

I need to check my camera out and make sure I can get some better pics.

But here are some of my chaos stuff. I have a fully painted ork nob biker army and a big bug that is all skeletal.

Khorne Chosen

Land raider for my khorne Bezerkers. I have a big pink one for my Slaanesh army, and I figured it wasn't right for my Khorne dudes, so bam made this.

More Slaanesh stuff

Sorcerers that never get taken out. Run Daemon princes instead.

Nurgle stuff is the next project and will do a how too for those interested. Wanted to do it with the new washes and some inking styles. Quick and dirty like.
