OK Question is Does any of the players on here add Nose art or pin up art to there Rhinos, landraiders Etc.( not including chapter Icons or unit IDS)
LIke a picture of a gal on a tank or some type of Motto for the army ( aka Hell on wheels or death from above...etc) OR is it just slap some paint on it and Off it goes?
Cause if do regular modeling myself( 1/35 scale tanks planes...etc.. and i have a ton of pin up books from the forties and thirites which i refer too when i paint on aka nose art)

To me it doesn't seem too Space Mariney to add nose art. However I reckon that it fits in with Guard themes excellently... maybe even Chaos Marines (Slannesh in particular, of course )

Go with your own tastes though!

Yeah, IG I can see, but the Space Jarheads are all-business from what I can envision. I dig the concept and your art on your tanks! I dunno if anyone ever historically put it on their tanks like that, but I would like to put it on mine!

I've seen some incredible free hand on marine vehicles of skeletons, avenging angels and other religious/military images.

WWI propeganda had a lot of that stuff, with idealized warrior goddesses like Brittania and Columbia leading the charge.

I won't be putting pin-ups on my Tau tanks (eww, blue alien space chicks) but I sure as hell will put nose art.

Screaming sharks, bird outlines, flames, all that kind of stuff. That's what Tau are all about - being the gloryboys with hotshot pilots looking over them.

Mmmmmm....blue alien space chicks. Why are you looking at me? Oh what, I'm the only one?

Actually, art featuring a non-human (like Tau) would be unique and very flavorful. I don't see Tau as painting on their vehicles, but that may be more cause I've never seen it than not being fluffy. If you make that leap, why wouldn't they put up what they know? I mean, for the greater good, of course.

If you're saying what I think you're saying, then yeah I think it's just because people "think" Tau are supposed to be some sort of communistic squares who aren't individuals at all. It's also funny that when you compare this to the general consensus that Tau are the ~anime~ kawaii ^____^ army, then aren't they supposed to have hot pink and neon green plastered all over their suits?

Anyway, when you see giant robots flying everywhere with awesome tanks and a general who's talking about "shorten your reach, gun down those mofos from point blank!" then I think they should all have badass insignias and draw all over their battlesuits and tanks. However, that's probably because I enjoy the Farsight legend and happen to think that's the way his army would fight - like Colonial Marines.

edit: I'll start painting one of my new tanks so I can put some nose art on it and can contribute to the thread.

Why didn't I think of it before? The Tau need Hello Kitty nose art!

I have a few pinup style pics of my wife I plan to design "nose art" with (stylizing them in photoshop and printing them on decal sheet) for the Baneblade I'll be superdetailing for Golden Daemon 2009....

She's my very own Vargas girl!

I imagine those sorts of "pinups" would be ok with the Commissar, but I get the impression that cheesecake painted on the Emperor's warmachines would be discouraged. I doubt the AdMech would approve either. If it's to be found anywhere, it seems more likely to me that cheesecake would be on those vehicles that see a lot of use by rank-and-file, particularly transports such as Chimeras and Valkyries. That's just my take though.
