Well I could have spent today doing useful things...

Instead I made a new weapon fit for my "counts as" sentinels. Currently got 2 of these things with Autocannon. Planning on making another 2 with these things as
Support sentinels with Missile Launchers. Paint scheme has yet to be totally decided but probably some kind of European green/black vehicle camo.

If anyone is interested there are some larger versions (and other stuff) here

In my opinion those things look too much like Tomb Spiders... and idea would be to put some armor around the driver, take the claws and head off of tomb spider and if you feel like it replace the legs with sentinel legs... just some suggestions to make it look less like a tomb spider and more like a sentinel.

Tabletop quality Orks for Sale. Plenty of converted vehicles. Moving and don't want. PM for details.

Its not really supposed to look like a Sentinel. Its supposed to look like these and these

then I think you would be better off scratch building them from platic card/tubing, other wise they are just gonna look like tomb spiders. That and if you want to do more in the future the sryders aint cheap.

Just by being related to GitS they're awesome. Would like to see some painted pics, but I agree that they look a bit too much like Tomb spyders. Perhaps the legs could be made a bit more tubular, I remember them as being very smooth in the original.
If you're aiming more for the Tank look, then they should be a bit more bulky, and the defiler would be a good start for that.
Overall, its a good start, and don't forget to post pics when they're finished.

Drake_Marcus: It's true- that's why the Space Wolves love termie armour so much. The whole "bear" thing they've got going on is just a thinly veiled cover-up of their huge, hairy cleavage.

Thanks for the comments guys. My main reason for not putting sentinel bits on is the fact that the things already use up 2 different models (Reaver jetbike and tomb spider). I'd rather not have to spring for a sentinel model for each as well.

I might fiddle about a bit for the next one but otherwise I rather like the effect of the completed ones. I think I will ponder the legs a bit further though as they are the biggest giveaway in my view.

Painting will happen... umm... at some point

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

I would save the nice model and replace the rider. Once an ork is riding it allm is forgiven,. Looted Tomb Spiders make good Deffcoptas.

You already gave it the twin linked rokkits.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

I do not know what kind of guard theme you would be going for here.

Another experimental variant. Will see what it looks like using more Sentinel bits (legs to come) this time. If I don't like it then I can easily revert to the original concept

I think you should give them an enclosed compartment. Great work though i might borrow it somewhen.

Thanks for the comment, however I play my sentinels as open topped vehicles so I don't think an enclosed compartment would gel very well. I may give him other gubbinz to play with though.

I LOVE Cadbury Creme eggs!

Oh and those models are quite freaky... But I definitely dig the Tachikoma idea. The Tachikomas were my absolute favorite part about SAC.

Until they started singing in the end... that freaked me out to no end.
