244 dollars for 20 models! What a Deal! I think I might order 2.

At work at the moment and can't get on the GW site. What's in the box???

That's a lot of dough for 20 models and a codex. I guess if you want all that stuff...

I wonder what the cost savings is, if any? Typically it's that you get the codex 'free', which isn't a great deal necessarily, especially if you don't want everything in the box.

I'll probably buy the stuff one at at time...

The Scout Bikes come with the new Bike Bases as well you can see in the picture. It is about time they released those!

New bases... too bad I use Darkage/warmachine bases. These would have come in handy a few years ago.

$244 US vs 146 pounds? Isn't the pound worth twice what the dollar is? Yikes.

Yeah those metal models must be really expensive separately to warrant $250.

At a guess:
Codex $25 (this much we do know)
Scout bikes $35 ish?
Drop pod rumoured to be in the are of $30-40
Tecmh marine and cannon $35?
Sternguard $35?
Vanguard $35?
special character $15 a piece? so $60?

Grand total of about anywhere from $255-$265?

There are no cost savings on spearheads. They are simply bundle boxes that allow you to get all the new products for an army earlier. This boxed set does not include the Redeemer or the new landspeeder.

You forgot the other great releases coming up....Rivendell Gandalf and the Three Hunters boxed set for Lord of the Rings.

special characters- all but 1 is $12 the other is $17 (tank guy)

I can wait. Not interested in all this metal stuff. I'll order the droppods and bikes from Neal when they're released.

That just doesn't seem worth it. It just doesn't look like much at all. I think if they are going to have this many special characters they should release a "Space Marine Hero" box or something like that. Like the old Heroes of the Imperium and Villains of Chaos or whatever set that was.

pretty nice lookin box.. and dont forget that only plastic in box are bikes\pod.. and probably thunderfire cannon

The drop pod looks nice and big, makes me worry that it will cost more than the Rhino as was first said.

File this in the Pass catagory. I have no use at all for the special characters. The bikers maybe, the drop pod maybe as well. But thats it, I was hoping it would be a great starter box for when the space puppies get redone in a few months.

The description clearly says that the thunderfire cannon is metal on the GW website.

I wouldn't think they would be stupid enough to put custom mini's on a product cover like that.

new bike bases on the scout bikers- i think this may at somepoint get rolled out to the other bike models- thats the plan apparently- dunno how long it'd take

The new bases are cool, yet i dont see the problem with the old ones (apart from the fact that they're square).

This might be worthwhile if the models were plastics, so i could convert them to be spiky marines. however, this seems to have little value to non-Ultras.

Wow... special characters from different armies. That's awesome!!!

And I guess this represents the first wave. Every other Marine special character we've had rumoured, plus every other new option (other than that flamer Land Raider) won't be out for years (like the 2nd wave Orks). Great.


Speaking of which, why isn't the new Land Raider in there? That might make its contents come closer to being worth that hidious price tag.
