Thinking about the balance between Puritans and Radicals in Codex: Inquistition, it seems to me that the Radicals always come up tremendously short compared to any of the Puritans. In the current Hunters books, the DH can take lame Daemonhost vs 3 or 4 GK units, and WH don't even mention Radicals. In the proposed Unified version, they've got huge numbers of entries for GK, SoB, and DW, but hardly anything for the Radicals. In the streamlined version, the Chambers are trimmed back to a single iconic unit, with little more than a Daemonhost as henchman entry. Yes, there's thought of perhaps a Psychic Power and/or a weapon option.

But thinking about it, there really should be a full Elite Radical option or something that has a bit more "oomph" for what you give up. At least somewhat competitive. My thought was for maybe some kind of Radical Penitent Marines blending Exorcists and Relictors as an Anti-Chamber Militant.

If you look at the current Chambers Miltant, they are (typically) MEQs, due to the Sisters being outnumbered by silver Marines and the-other-black Marines. And customized Marines are fun and easy to make. So assume a MEQ Chamber Militant as a forgotten / lost / Radical Chapter.

There are two well-known Radical Chapters:
- Relictors (Chaos & forbidden weaponry)
- Exorcists (Daemonic Possession)

Relictors are Marines with non-approved equipment, so they can actually be represented pretty well by any MEQ force. It's simply different Fluff explaining *how* they do whatever they do. Instead of a Force Weapon, it's a Daemonweapon that negates saves, etc.

Exorcists are another matter. When Marines are randomly Possessed, they gain S5 and Sv5++, along with a random USR. But if the Possession could be somewhat *controlled*, then they don't need to be so random and crappy rules-wise. S5 / Sv5++ makes for great close-combat troops, so assume Veteran Assault Marines as the base and assume they get the a good result - Rending (not as good as Power Weapons, but decent enough).

Cost-wise, I peg them at 35 pts, based on Possessed being "fair" with Rending at 26 pts, and paying 9 pts per model for BP&CCW with Jump Pack, but losing Ld10 Fearless.

Elite
Blood Paladins (5..10) 35 pts each
WS4 BS4 S5 T4 W1 I4 A2 Ld9 Sv3+/5++ Rending
BP&CCW w/ JP

What say you?

If Radical Inquistors could take these (or something conceptually similar as their Chamber Militant equivalent) instead of Grey Knights, Deathwatch, or Sisters, would that make Radical Inquistors more playable?
