ARUEOCB in short.

Hmm, that doesn't exactly roll of the tongue...

Anyway, here's the first victim. Sorry, I didn't had the time to set up my light tent.

The shots of the Ork look wonderful.. the hand with cigar is especially nice..

However, in the last picture, you completely ruined the model with that choice of paint job..

Great to see you posting again mate, have missed seeing your amazing sculpt work!

Is this all you've been working on in your hiatus from posting?

Looking forward to seeing more!

Cheers,

I'll second that, good to see you back on the boards, HMV.

The ork is looking grand so far, already has some serious character to him.

Curious, are those fingers sculpts, or offcuts from another model?

That's what you get when you copy/paste in a hurry. I'll let her stay, she'll make the thread a bit prettier.

Dante: I've done a lot of things in the mean time but none is finished. Real job and a demanding bloodsucker demolish my toy soldier time. You can see my latest sculpt in the background of the last ork picture. I'll take some photos of it tomorrow.

Teek: The fingers are sculpted.

Call it "OrkaMunda"!

Looking great by the way! Is he going to be a Nob, Scarboy or simply one of the Boys? You might want to base the leader on an even bigger model such as the Ogre. Kind of like these Orcs. Now that would be cool!

You have a great, great start on the project already! I like the cigar hand a lot!

Altough you do have a lot of work ahead of you if you want this ork to look like the last pictures sketch... But you are almost there already!

I have the results of the last chamber: You are a horrible person.
That's what it says: A horrible person...
We weren't even testing for that.

Two questions:
-How did you do those hands?
-Where did you get that shotgun?

This guy looks awesome but moar of it. Hyper awesome. It would be cool to do something small to his gun stock. Like etch on it "Hol' dis' end" very orky.

Maybe a hyper viper beam ork too. Like Cabel from Marvel vs. Capcom.

Mix some GS (a harder compound with more resin will be better) and find a nice, flat surface. Let GS set for some time then roll out a long worm out of it. Take your time and make sure you do it neatly and keep the width as even as possible. Let it dry. Then cut them up into pieces and glue together with superglue. Apply GS to the knuckles to make em round. you could do it with plastic tubing instead of GS rolls but GS sticks to GS better.

The shotgun is a sawed off big shoota from the Lootas/Burnas box.

I like it! Brillian GS work, it´s difficult to spot where the GS stops and the original starts, very niiice.

The shotgun looks great, from the first photo I was thinking it might be a conversion of the blunderbuss from the empire outriders/pistoliers kit, but the second shot of it threw me off completely.

How big is this guy compared to an IG or some such?

Amazing work so far....

all i'd maybe suggest is to add something to bulk out his legs a bit, maybe some more armour plates or pouches or something...

other than that, simply outstanding...

Update took me more than two months. Must be a personal record.

Big Shoota Boy "Tiny" He still needs some detailing and gear bits.

And here's a very WIP Mad Doc but it features my first ever attempt at sculpting an ork head.

Wow. Very cool conversion work. You've found a way to really exude a lot of Orky attitude in each model. Look forward to see some painted.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Right on HMV, lovin' the green blighters. Tiny leaves a bit to be desired around the neck area me thinks, but the head on the pain boss is appropriately both orky and mishappen (to match his patchwork body).

This is outstanding work. Really inspirational.

On a bit of criticism though, I do not approve of bulging out arms making legs look shrunken.

Doh, it's WIP, whadayawant

I do not approve of bulging out arms making legs look shrunken.

I was kinda trying to get a more comic space gorilla look for them, though I admit Tiny is a bit over the top...

C'mon now, he IS an ork, da bigger da better. I really like what you have going on here, Tiny sort of reminds me of this guy from Team Fortress 2 (careful, link is a movie),and that sculpted Pain Boy, he's just dead sexy.

The arms are a bit large but it definitely makes for a great effect! I like the huge arms on Tiny, but I'd say just leave that for the heavy weapon boyz.

Other than that, everything looks fantastic! I'll definitely be following this log, as I do with most of the =I= madness people have been coming up with here!

I am in love with your ork hands, they look very cool. The custom head is amazing, I think its at par with a GW one easily.

Humpdate. A blitzkrieg for me. As you can see, the Dok takes his responsibilities seriously and tends to the wounded Boyz as best as he can in the rag tag battlefield conditions.
