I was at my FLGS, and lo and behold I found some Praetorians. I had always thought that they were cool, but in a funny kind of way, you know? Like a bunch of British dudes fighting against the horrors of the universe funny.

I decided to buy some, just for fun to paint and maybe put them in a veteran squad or a remnant squad or something.

I guess I should ask then, has anyone ever purchased any of these? And if so, are they any good? Like quality wise? I have a bunch of extra special weapons and whatnot so it shouldn't be too hard to convert.

Vlad, how many Praetorians does your store still have left after your purchase? I need 1 last 10 man squad of them...

In reality I just got 2 blisters of guys (HB team and one that came with soldiers that had a flamer and a lasgun), IIRC they have a Mortar blister and an Autocannon blister left. Sorry if I brought your hopes up.

I figure that I have enough lasgun bits to fit at least 40 dudes, and then I can buy some officers off of eBay.

I'm such a sucker for these weird kind of armies, and the worst part is that I'm supposed to be saving this money for the Guard codex.

Oh well, I figure that I only really need the IG codex and possibly the Cadian command squad. Valkyries are sweet models but I'll probably ask for one for my birthday.

these guys are good. they are a little bit small, but not in a bad way. GW's guys are on par with them, heads and bodies structurally are a MM or 2 bolder, but they make for good pratoreans. The new lasrilfes from the cadian sets will do nicely for them.

the equipment will fit, and unless you are getting down to them looking at the super detail, you won't have a problem.

think "Old IG/ new IG issue. same thing.
