Welcome to another battle report. A slight change of plans as Sousou could not make it. So our master terrain maker and photographer Pat decided to field his Kroot Mercs. Next week we will return to the Eldar vs Slaanesh as was planed.






Top of the First turn. Mission is Capture and Control and the set up is table quarters. I fail to steal the initiative so Pat goes first.


Pat advances with his Kroot


The Nose Marines begin to open up as the Lash Prince advances


Top of the Second


Kroot Vulture squad wipe out Noise Marines near Slaanesh Base


Noise Marines counter attack but the Kroot vultures are darn lucky


Top of the Third


Kroot Jump and wipe out another squad of Noise Marines and are poised the take the Slaanesh base


Nose Marines are plagued with bad rolls and another unit of the Emperors Children is nearly wiped out


Top of the Fourth


The Shaper Council is nearly unstoppable and clean up the Predator as the final unit of Noise Marines meet their end


With the help of the Lash Prince the Kroot based is Cleansed of troops


Top of the Fifth


The Defiler meets its end as the battle rages at the center of the board


The last of the Shaper council is sent fleeing but the damage has already been done


Top of the Sixth. The game continues


The Kroot on the Slaanesh base ready them selves for the Lash Prince


And Just when I needed it the most The Prince fails to cast the Lash and is Periled


Top of the Seventh


The battle rages on over the Slaanesh objective and the best the Lash Prince can hope for is a draw


And with one shaper left the Kroot win as the Lash Prince gets banished back to the Warp




End of game shot. That was a bloody one. Pat and I had a blast. Thanks for checking it out!

Thanks for the props folks. The Kroot Merc force is in the last chapter approved book that came out for fourth edition I think. As far as a list goes, maybe Pat could post it later. Suffice to say that their was eviserators everywhere We also modified their forest rules to make it a bit more fluffy as they are now city fighters. But as all the terrain was city We decided to lose the Move Through Cover ability but kept the + 1 save. They also had the Ork Hybrid upgrade (which gave them a toughness 4).

And to Arbitor Ian, again thank you guys for setting the standard.

Nice battle report. Even nicer when a game is played with fully painted armies! x2 on the Rhino paint job.

The Kroot win again! I love this army! My list contained

3 Carnivore Squads
1 Stalker Kindred
1 Vulture Kindred
1 Krootox herd
1 Master Shaper
1 Shaper Council

all Shapers had Eviscerators and the army had the Ork Hybrid upgrade.

wow nice battle you've played as well as those pic shown smoked rhinos. this might be my first time to see kroot army in action. it's furious than chaos IMO.

Hey thanks Kid-Happy!

I will contact Panic about what armies he will be featuring for his next batte report and we will match him on our side of the planet. Then maybe we can play Sieze Ground and we can use the total objectives taken from both our games to decide the victor! I will message him today!

I assume those three things in the back of your Slaanesh army are obliterators? And how/what did you use to create those models? I really hate the GW obliterator models and am trying to find an alternative lol >.>

Yep those are scratch built oblits. First edition Space Hulk Termi legs, vehicle heavy weapons, powerfists, and other bits including skulls for heads. I need to get around to featuring all my armies so I can live up to my sig

Immense report, great to see exactly what can be done with our hobby. And man that Kroot list was nasty - friend of mine who plays Tau will be very intrigued...

I'm glad everyone likes the Kroot Merc army. I love this army a lot. Not very easy to play but I found a set up I like and that works for me. Maybe Morehammer will like to do a battle against my entire kroot force one day.
