Nu`uanu, Hawai`i

Aloha and welcome to part 5 of the Panic Campaign.

Imperial Guard forces have been delayed by an Ork ambush on Somidius 3 so a contingent of Adeptus Mechanicus are the first forces other than Marines to arrive. The Heart of Ucileonan has many secrets. The Adeptus Mechanicus have located a Thousand Sons Warband who have been busy excavating a relic of ancient xenos power. The Techno Magi (Inqusitor Lord Proxy) has prepared a special Acquisition Squad (proxy Grey Knights) to capture and extract information from a Damon prince, Faudazak`gruued, who is the leader of the Warband.

Thousand Sons Chaos Marines

The Mission is Seize Ground and the set up is Spearhead.
I win the roll to go first but Pat and Sous (co-commanders) Seize the Initiative!

Top of the First


The Adeptus Mechanicus forces lay into the Thousand Sons and using the new Imperial Guard Orders they inflict two wounds on the Prince and take out a Rhino and the Predator


Advancing at full throttle the Chaos forces sweep forward and focus all their attacks at the Aqusition Squad who have strayed too close and are wiped out

Top of the Second


The Adeptus Mechanicus forces continue to pour everything they have into the advancing tide of Chaos but my Thousand Sons invulnerable saves keep them virtually unharmed


Ignoring the bait presented by a suicidal Guard squad the Daemon prince and the two units of Thousand Sons move to Wipe out the Techno Magi and his squad and Leave a Spawn in their place.

Top of the Third


Sickend at the death of their Leader the rest of the Adeptus Mechanicus Army move in for revenge


Spawn begin to appear across the board as the Thousand Sons lose their Daemon Prince but have two other Sorcerers with Gift of Chaos

Top of the Fourth


The Russ continues to blast away at the Thousand sons but my saves are spotless. This is turning out like my last game.


More Spawn are created and begin to hunt down the Chimeras in hiding

Top of the Fifth


The Thousand Sons are assaulted in a desperate attempt to contest objectives but the Terminators are waiting to quash the effort.


Two spawn have assaulted and destroyed the Russ and the spawn on the Sentinels have tied them up for 4 rounds of combat

We roll and the game ends a chaos Victory! It was almost a draw with all the Chimera contesting but it was a good thing Chaos went second

So that brings us to Traitors 3, Loyalists 1 and a draw.

Hey thanks for the compliments!

Here are the lists:

Adeptus Mechanicus:

Inquisitor Lord with Scouring (Techno Magi) and a Familier and 2 Servitors with Powerfists. (No Psychic Hood as it is not fluffy but in hindsight that would have made a differnce for at least the first two spawn)

6 Grey Knights (Aquisition squad)

Company Comand squad. Comander with Powerfist and Bolter.
3 Veterans with flamers and an Officer of the Fleet (I opted not to deepstrike my Terminators because of him)

Platoon comand with two gernade launchers and two infantry with Meltaguns and all in 3 stock Chimera.

Two Heavy Weapons teams, one all Lascannons and the other all missle launchers

3 Armoured Sentinals with Lascannons

Leman Russ with all the trimmings


Thousand Sons:

Daemonprince with Mark of Tzeentch and Gift of Chaos and wings

4 Squads of 5 (yes I know, not nine but at least not any of the other sacred numbers) Thousand
Sons, two with Gift of Chaos, one with Bolt of Change and the last with Doom Bolt. The first three in stock Rhinos

9 Terminators (there we go) with Mark of Tzeentch, 3 Powerfists, one Chainfist, 3 Combiflamers, one Combi Melta and a Reaper Cannon

1 Predator with Twin Lascannons

There we are!

The Lesson learned for the Adeptus Mechanicus was not to be so eager to get in close to to ap3 weapons and to bring a friend with a Psychic Hood

All painted and pushing 60,000 points combined.

Another tip top report Morehammer, i'm enjoying this mini series of goodies vs badies, the top down views are particularly helpful.

As with the previous bat. rep. (Salis vs Choas marines), i'm really seeing the benefit of large Terminator squads, and their obvious staying power - cheers for pointing me in this direction and more of the same please.

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but melta guns excite me

I Loved this BatRep! Of course it helped that Chaos won!
As always your armies are awesome!
Pat looked to have you out gunned, and you lost your only Heavy support in turn 1. (which mirrored what happened to me in game4)
So I was impressed that you won.

I've always liked Gift and for ages I was convinced that it was the best power... but lately I've started to follow the herd and switched to WarpTime
the nail in the coffin for me was the fact that in a KP mission each spawn is a unit and gives up a KP... not good.
What's pretty cool is I assume that using it with a Tzeench means your you can use gift twice per chaos turn, per DP/Sorcerer
Maybe I'll switch back and give it another go...

London should get another game in this week if I'm lucky. works been a drag.
I have managed to get some terrain made though, so it's not all bad...
My hills and forest will soon match my game board.. (instead of bright green) which will bring all my old terrain upto date with the battleboard.
I've been making a new city wall so that I'm ready for planet strike! With a bit of work it should make a apperance in the next batrep.
Assault on LasShamus! I'll see if I can convince Ian to play on the imperial side and use his adeptus arbites, they havn't seen a game in a while, and having them defend a city along side a few Space marines would be Awesome!

Our next game is tomorrow, I hope I can bring out a win. I believe the Imperials are down by two points. I also wish my friends in the UK the best of luck (for Imperials that is ).

If yours was the main gate.. mine is only a side entrance!
Mine is also modular. At the momment it's 4' long. enough for the short edge. once I've seen the planet strike rules I'll make more plus breaches etc...

Those Ksons are absolutely stunning! Both armies are top-notch, but I was particularly impressed with the detail on the Chaos Terminators.

Hey thanks Panic and everyone else for the compliments! Gift of Chaos was a gamble but boy did it pay off. Maybe it is a good thing that everyone underestimates the spawn....

I do feel a bit bad about taking advantage of Sous and Pat having to adjust to a new codex, but this next game they will be a lot more familiar.

So the next part of the LasShamus Campaign (Heart of Ucileonan in Eldar tongue) will see the World Eaters taking on the newly arrived Imperial Guard who had been delayed by the Ork Stompa Ambush. The points will be at 2000 and the game should begin in about 4 hours I have been trying to post the battles right after we fight them so check back on Sunday at around 11 am in the UK.
