So i was on the 40k humor thread and this guy posted some pictures of necrons as pirates! At 1st i was like ok thats COOL. Now it is in my mind a lot! i would Nightbringer a giant octopus and i would have monliths me pirate ships and orbs me mugs of ale and so on and forth tomb spyders would be floatign sharks and stuff so PLZ comment on the idea im like 14, maybe its just me but this is a pretty nice idea IMO.

Well it would be more for fun and i think i would enjoy the conversion process and just having something THAT unique. but yeah that was my 1st thought but HEY who doesnt think that is cool i mean you just don't see it that much. But, yeah i see were you are coming from

Necron pirates!!!! You really should make them.. just not as you descriped them. Make a group of necrons that are using illegal copies of copyrighted software as their weapons.

i believe the OP is describing robot Pirates using "counts as" necron rules...
which IMO is kinda cool, although for a 14 year old he does seem a tad OMG THE LULS GUI"S I LEIK TOTALLY GUT MUDKIPS... calm down a tad mate and your idea's get a better responce.
Also use correct grammar and less text talk, if i can manage it at only a year to your senior then you can.

Kind of like a 41st Millennium twist on the Pirates of the Caribbean? I do have to agree with Renegade though, Orks would make some kick butt pirates. Converting Necron Monoliths into anything "piratey" would be a task and a half to make it look good.

well necrons are easy to paint so it shouldn't be too hard.

Thank you for all the wonderful comments! I like all of your ideas! And for the monolith i was thinking i would make a fake on out of legos and such, then from there see how I could make it out of card ad cardboard. So it would like a pirate ship and the gauss blasters that it is would like like cannons. I also thought of a color scheme. It would be warlock purple, a touch of ice blue and some mithril silver. After i painted the model with that i would get use the necron abyss wash and go over most of the model with it. Please tell me what you think of this paint job! (I am a OK painter it takes time for detail, so nothing WAY to complicated, otherwise thanks in advance!)

Cardboard and lego for a centerpeice model? and necron abyss is a foundation paint not a wash anyway...

The first design would be lego to see size and shape not the actual model. The real model would be made of scrathcard and other stuff like that. Also, thank you got it mixed up so i appreciate the correction.

I think it sounds pretty cool, especially the Octopus nightbringer.

Is it based on those 'undead pirates' that you see often? I think using the Necron design will make it quite unique.

I think you should go for it, this is a Hobby not a god damn social club, do what ever the hell you want, go for it! Give them hooks for all I care! I think it is really badass to be honest with you, don't listen to most of these "Elitists". I've seen the dumbest friggen ideas that they think would be amazing.

Make your Necrons, give them robotic parrots, and just have fun making them, this is a hobby, make -YOUR- Army.

Hey, so I think that creativity should be encouraged, not bashed. So I say go for it. Like Avrik said, its a hobby, YOUR hobby, so do what you want. Even if it doesnt turn out well, you got some practice in when it comes to building these miniatures.

true that, if it is going through your head to make a pirate ship that fits on a skimmer base (hint hint), go for it. If you do, please make a kiera knightly model that kicks butt, I would totally dig that.

Make your army, dont let anyone tell you it is a dumb idea, cheesy, sucks, w/e. tell them to go suck it.

He has a piece of blank paper, puts it over his eye and says "ARRRR! I'm I pirate". Then he does it again but says "I'm not a pirate ARRRRR!" with the piece of paper still on his face.
