Hi all,

Since getting back into 40k after what seems a millenia gone and purchased the AOBR set and I've decided to go and build a Death Skulls army Now I've only read what I could find in the 3rd and 4 th editions of the Ork Codex, is there any more fluff/background on this thievin Ork clan? I would love some more background stuff to read so I can get a real feel for the thievin gitz

Well, now that you can't loot Imperial vehicles anymore, all the mighty Looted Leman Russes and Basilisks have to be 'counts as' Looted Wagons, which suck because they are basically Rhinos that can take a Battlecannon. Lame.

If you want a competitive and fluffy Deathskulls army, take lots of Lootas (you can have up to 45 of them) and some Battlewagons, which are far better than Looted Wagons.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

That is very lame! so now I can't loot/take ove any imperial vehicles does that mean I can't rip them a part and stick the stolen parts on a battle wagon or 2?

Yes, of course you can, for modelling purposes!

What CheeseElemental meant is that in the previous editions, you could take, for instance, an Imperial Basilisk in your ork army, and count it as a Basilisk w/ orkish crew!!!!

Now, you can still use it, but it will count as a generic Looted Wagon rules-wise...

I'm not an Ork player, but I agree with them: it 'ing sucks!!!!

Let da Boyz loot!!!!!!!

Oh, btw, the new plastic Lootas are awesome IMHO....

If you're keen on looting, I guess you could use some SM Land Speeders, put Orks as crews, and use'em as Deffkoptas... That could be some nice conversion,

Cheers,
Raphaël

Back in the day, their were special deathskull rules regarding an after game 'Orkshun'. ( if you won the fight)

This allowed the warboss to auction any weapons and wargear 'left behind' by the enemy, and get some teef for it. The weapons would then be availabe to da boys the next battle, and the warboss would have more teef (points) to spend on more boys.

Quite how these rules were supposed to work IRL I don't know, as you would be forever changing the weapons your models were carrying. Maybe it would be doable if you were doing a small skirmish campaign, (which was more the thing back then I suppose)
