What are you going to do about it?

As well as being not interested it is too expensive for a board game. I play a lot of board games. But I don't think I'll ever be able to play this one, even if I wanted too because of it's ridiculous price. I'm sure some super Sphess Marheeens fanboy will pick it up though, maybe then I'll sit down and have a play through.

Unfortunately, I have no money whatsoever.

But, I've heard great things about the game, and I'd certainly like to purchase it.

Never did get the first one... now I have enough disposable income to pick one up.

WAAAY to pricey!!! GW should have used this as a way to get people into the game not price it so only rich crack adicts will get it. I will wait for the second round and buy it when its cheap hehehe.

Had it been $75 bucks (less than 60 at discount) I might have gone for it. But not that interested in SM/Tyranids minis, or the game itself to buy it at $100.

Yes. And they too are ridiculously expensive. A box set comprised of overpriced items is still overpriced, even if it's cheaper than buying them individually.

I understand that all of us get bled white by GW's prices, especially after they were kind enough to give all their stuff a hike this summer.
That being said, there's a ton of models out there, and even if people get mad about how the tiles are cardboard, or the relative price of models on their own, you still get a ton of models.
THAT LOOK GREAT.

And beyond that, you get SPACE HULK. It's an awesome game, and I'll definitely get $100 worth of good times out of it. It's meant to be Space Hulk - a great board game; everything else is secondary.

Can't you just mount them on plastic bases anyway?

Looks great and it's a way I can get my family to slowly be invaded by 40k! Might buy it if I have enough money left after the holiday!

Seeing as how Doom, Desenct and any of the other modern knock offs of GW's games from the 80's and 90's (heroquest/Spacehulk) are similarly priced, with models that aren't even close to as good a sculpt. I don't see what people are complaining about?

I always wanted to play it and couldn't afford it way back when. I stopped just last week at a gaming store in Chicago, Dice Dojo, that carries a ton of board games and the really good looking ones were running close to $80 (Agricola comes to mind). I didn't pull the trigger because I didn't know how much I'd like the game. I love 40K though and this is a 40K board game for 20 bucks more. That's my rationale anyways

Space Hack. No thank you. It was boring when I first palyed it long ago. Nothing special. It was too repetitive kind of like a canned hunt point and shoot. I won't miss it when its gone. I found Epic 40K more interesting.

Definetly gonna buy if it is avaible any other way than only from GWs website...

I bought mine yesterday, had to get an advance on my pocket money for next month.
But then again I would by it just for those models.

I have ordered it for the models. I had a look at them today (The GW I was at got their store copy today) and the models are SOOOO sexy. The terminators are insanely detailed, the genestealers are just brutal, and the fact that I am starting out Blood Angels with the need of 2 Terminator Squads and a Terminator Librarian just sent me over the edge.

Too much dang money. Plus I dont like Tyranids, and dont want to buy any product which might encourage GW to keep making them. Let them go sit in the closet with the Squats...

I just don't see the point. I fall into the realm where I have enough friends who play tyranids, and i have 10 terminators, a librarian already.

Given the economy, GW could have boasted sales with a mini release. Release a "space hulk alternate pack" with the rules, and the tiles only. Make it $30. They would have sold a ton to existing players, then mentioned people to buy the 40k started which IS SPACE MARINES AND TYRANIDS.

There marketing move is plan old dumb.

You are. There is a board game Descent published by FFG that has nothing to do with the video game by a similar name. Here is the Board Game Geek listing for it (in case you have a few friends and want to play a D&D / HeroQuest-esque adventure game without needing 19 rulebooks and doing character gen.

As for Space Hulk, I think it could have been a great loss-leader and marketing tool for GW / 40K that they missed the boat on. I personally love the game and after playing it had to have a copy (which I bought on eBay for about $100 in Jan). If I was willing to buy used for $100, you bet your ass I would buy a new one at that price (and have!!)

It's too expensive for what it is IMO, but i'm still going to buy kust to own those ridiculous models.

If the cost is killing a lot of people (I know I had to seriously debate buying one myself), check eBay for the original.

Seems like everyone and their best friend is trying to sell off their 1st edition SH games.... and actually for a decent price. Last week you could find them going for about $350CDN, but checking this morning I found 4 that were complete, unpunched, for less than $75 CDN.

BTW, does anyone know if GW is setting up some sort of demo game at their stores or something? I'll actually hazard a trip down there to try this out. Space Hulk has always interested me, and I'd really like to try it out.

We'll, it seems interesting enough, but I have hardly any money, and judging by the ridiculous costs of GW games, i dont think i could in a while. I dont even know if i would want to.

I'm getting a copy for my kids and myself to play. I loved my copy of 2nd Edition and these new tiles and models are very cool. My 7 year old daughter loves 'em.

Already pre-ordered from the web site and also requested a copy from my local store that a friend and I will split 50/50.

I want the marines, but not the board game, It's too expensive, I don't play many board games, it's a limited run which dislike, there was always the off chance I'd get it for christmas...but hey, maybe the mini's will be available seperatly...on ebay at least
