I've never owned Halo 3 myself, and never bought it before my old console met a horrible death after falling from the shelf. I've only ever played it on my friend's console, and not extensively, so I have some questions...
1. Was the issue with Elites in multiplayer fixed so they aren't any worse than Spartans?
2. If the Arbiter dies in the campaign, do I fail the mission?
3. Is Johnson still invulnerable in the campaign?
4. Is 343 Guilty Spark the only boss fight? Don't I get to fight the Prophet of Truth like I did with Regret in Halo 2?
5. Is the new assault rifle any good?
|
People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made. |

Which is good, because occasionally his AI goes into Tard beserk mode and he runs into a group of Brutes without you. 3. You never really fight alongside Johnson(maybe once towards the end). 4. Yes. 5. It's basically the same as it was in the first Halo(unsurprising considering it IS the same weapon fluffwise). More powerful than the SMG.

1. Yes.
2. No.
3. No, though he respawns. You only fight with him once though, and the only way he's likely to die is if you kill him yourself.
4. Yep.
5. Its function is that of a starting weapon - it's decent all-round, but you'll likely want to swap it out for something more specialised.

So what does happen if the Arbiter dies? I know he respawns in co-op mode, seeing as how he's player-controlled in that instance.

He falls over, then gets back up after a little while. Same with Johnson. Johnson however counts as a marine, and so will attack you if you kill him too frequently.

Awesome. One last question... what is 'campaign scoring' exactly?

If you enable scoring, each kill/medal you get in campaign mode adds to your score. Scoring options are team (every player contributes to one total) or free for all (players compete for points). There are a series of achievements tied to getting certain score totals on each level; apart from that, scoring is just there to add an extra factor of competition to campaign play.
You can get more points for finishing a level quickly, playing on a higher difficulty, or by finding and enabling skulls.
