Hello everyone. I'm a lurker who's finally taken the plunge. I used to collect 40k back when I was in my early teens. Now, at the grand old age of 23, I'm teetering on the edge of getting back into miniature collecting and (very occasional) skirmish- and war-gaming. For a few reasons; mostly because my girlfriend's brother lent me a load of Dan Abnett's 40k novels, which reminded me of how much I love the ludicrous grim-dark fluff. That said, I'm not mad keen on forking out for GW products, and this fine website has a wealth of scratch-building stuff, as well as some entertaining discussions, interesting news, painting blogs to help me with my dramatically remedial painting abilities, and etc and etc. Well done all concerned.

At some point soon I'm going to be selling the last of my old GW stuff in order to i) have money for cigarettes/booze/food, and ii) invest in some more (cheaper) minis (if the girlfriend will let me).
