I know to the Imperium they are just another Xenos threat. But how do their former brethren view them? The same as the loyalist marines view their Chaos siblings?

It seems to more akin to a certain amount of 'disdain' rather than the outright hate shared between SM and CSM.

Eldar look at DE as everything fallen and wrong with thier old society, and see them as a reckless and shallow people. They look down on them in a sort of 'Holier-than-thou' sort of way.

Dark Eldar look at Craftworld Eldar as stuck up and arrogant race, reffering to them as know it all goody-two shoes in all likelihood. They most certainly would prey upon and take advantage of them if possible, but that goes for everyone, even themselves. This does not extend to all other Eldar, as the Harlequins occasionally put on shows for the Dark Eldar so THEY at least must me welcome.

While they are clearly not allies (except perhaps in the most extreme of circumstances) I do not think that they hate each other like a loyalist Marine would hate his Chaotic Battle Brother.

Cool. I'm rather fond of the warrior-clowns too.

Pretty close. The craftworlders see them as a shameful reminder of their past, and the darkies see the 'worlders as a bunch of whiny pussies.

I think the dark eldar see craftworlders less as 'goody two shoes' and more that in their fear, they are denying the essential truth of their own nature, and that there is no point of one having the skills and abilities their kind has if they shall merely lock themselves away and block out all sensations.

And, conversely, the Craftworld Eldar are probably fans of things like, oh, I don't know, having friends, not getting raped, not getting killed, sunshine, puppies, and a general sense of safety that is sorely lacking in the slu- just kidding, everywhere in the hellhole that is Comorragh. Seriously, not even Asdrubael Vect likes it there.

The relationship between Eldar and Dark Eldar is probably an unnatural one.

The difference between the two races is not good or evil. That's like saying there is a good or evil side in any war (say it, I dare ya). Essentially now they are two independant factions, similar roots (think Jewish people vs Christians) but now far enough apart that they look at one another as complete strangers.

@ the Feret. That's a cool way at looking at it. But I think their would be a tad more of rivalry. Like say Christian vs Muslim in DE and Eldar.

But Odin forbid what could happen if we bring religion into this.

They have been known to ally with each other, but i don't think it happens often. In the DE codex, a haemonculus talks about the craftworld eldar with a feeling of comtempt, rather than outright hatred. Harlequins are respected by the entire race though.

...tanks from the 23rd and 48th batallion were flanked by tanks from the enemies' 56th batallion. It was then that General Smedfordshire revealed his secret weapon: a slightly larger tank.

Harlequins clearly receive armour and weaponry from both groups (mostly armour from craftworld and weaponry for DE, it seems) and tell tales relevant to both. Harlequins are taken from all races of eldar, after all.

I get the impression that DE are actually a touch afraid of harlequins, or at least have a very healthy respect for their abilities, which does count for a lot in such a culture. Particularly when it is evident that the harlequins do have a god clearly on their side.
