Next book has been named, and apparently Privateer's doing a bit of a contest to start things off:

Congratulations on taking the first step to unlocking the secrets of WARMACHINE: Wrath. But do you have what it takes to make it to the next level?

Unlock the names of the next new warcasters that will be featured in WARMACHINE: Wrath and you could be the first to own art prints of these powerful new characters. Just translate the names above and send the translations, along with your full name and mailing address to wrath.contest@privateerpress.com. On August 9th Privateer Press will choose one correct entry to win a full set of Wrath warcaster prints delivered before the book is released in 2011!

Full contest rules are listed below.

Bonus points if you can translate the descriptions!

I translated the names. Epic Karchev was not listed anywhere on that page, and therefore I couldnt be arsed to bother with the descriptions

I almost spit out my coffee when I read that. Well done!

As a long time Karchev fan, all I can say is... maybe it's because Karchev is already "Epic"

It would be like making "Extreme Chuck Norris". Cool, but not really necessary.

Is this some Iron Kingdoms script explained somewhere, or is it some PP employee typing up some cipher in wingdings?

Its all Iron Kingdoms script. What I did was googled Privateer Press font, and there should be a link to the PP forums which has Cryx, Khador, Menoth, and Cygnaran fonts you can download.

The only one that I didn't translate was the Iosan/Rhulic whatever it is (second from the bottom) was translated by a friend.

Nope, its Cygnar, Cryx, Khador, Menoth, ??? (pretty sure its Ios), and Cygnar.

More precisely:
Spoiler:
Constance Blaize Knight of the Prophet, Thyra Flame of Sorrow, Kommander Harkevich The Iron Wolf, Lord Exhumator Scaverous, ???, Captain Damiano

I'll see about getting the Iosan one from my friend again.

Why do they have so many forms of writing for the same language? I get that they are all supposed to be different, but when you get down to it, its all english.

Right?

Because it would be stupid hard to make up that many languages.

My understanding was that they all spoke the same language, but had developed their own separate writing systems. Cygnaran and Khadoran are descended from the same parent language (Khardic?), while Cryxian is an older/more obscure system, and Menite uses the religious writing system

No, when you get down to it, it's all fake. So stop thinking so hard about it, we can't all be Tolkien.

September, apparently. Personally, I'm wondering when the character upgrade kits come out for the heavies come out. They're apparently available at GenCon right now, so one would hope it's soon...

No one at me store has gotten a bad plastic kit. I don't think they're nearly as bad at the internet makes them out to be.

The simple version if that PP has different plastic than GW, almost more like resin. Plastic glue will not work on it, but superglue works Incredibly well on it. It is a harder materials, and take more effort to cut or work on it, but it will also bend further before it breaks. As for the kits themselves, they are indeed made in China, and the quality control is not the best and some bad ones get thru. I myself have never gotten a bad one, and I am unaware of anyone at my FLGS getting a bad one. If you Do get a bad one, PP will replace it and send you a new one.
