Hi,
on GenCon, Gale Force 9 announced a new series of prepainted terrain sets called "Battlefield in a Box". Here their official announcment:

Welcome to Gale Force Nine’s first look at some upcoming releases in our Battlefield in a Box series and our collection of Gaming Aids. People attending Gen Con can see these samples in person at the GF9 booth, number 1409. But since everyone can’t attend the show, we wanted to give people a peek at these exciting new projects. Each show day at Gen Con, we’ll unveil a new project both at our booth and on our website so check back often!

First up, behold twisted terror that is the Tree of Woe! This foreboding structure makes a great centerpiece on your battlefield or serves as a field command for your army. A fel and twisted tree has taken root in the structure of a fortified stone tower; the uses for this sinister spire are only limited by your imagination! All Battlefield in Box terrain sets are pre-painted and ready to use right out of the box.

This grand structure inspires all who fight amongst its ruins; gaze upon the Hall of Heroes! This series of terrain focuses on the ruins of a round tower, temple or other such structure. The core piece of this release is a massive two-story ruined wall section with a second floor mezzanine and a balcony over the central doorway. All Battlefield in Box terrain sets are pre-painted and ready to use right out of the box.

Mysterious and beautiful Elven architecture has always been at the center of many great battles; whether it is the elves themselves defending their ancient lands or opposing forces warring to control these inscrutable structures. The models in GF9’s Elven series of terrain pieces for Battlefield in Box will be the highlight of any warzone. A stately guard tower is the centerpiece of these sets along with elven pillars, icons and ruins. All Battlefield in Box terrain pieces are pre-painted and ready to use right out of the box.

As a bonus, here is a first pic of the upcoming updated Warhammer Fantasy token set:

Personally I am very excited about the High Elf terrain and the updated tokens.

The tokens look really good, and the terrain will probably be inexpensive if I know GF9.

I need to save up my money now.

Well, this seems more in line with the old Warmachine prepainted terrain which GF9 produced for around 80$ per set, not the current cheap plastic line. But that is my guess. I have no idea about prices yet. But I need two Elven tower sets whatever the costs

Damn, I'd love to see an Eldar version of that Elven tower.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

I dunno, GF9 stuff is usually really good but none of that does it for me, I'm afraid. The giant tree-tower thing is sort of stupid looking, and the elf tower is the wrong style completely, to my mind.

Edit, there's one on ebay and it's £45, I think I'll pass.

All this stuff is pretty nice but nicer still would be the option to get them cheaper as kits or just unpainted. It sucks paying a premium for pre painted niceties if you're intending to repaint or convert them.

The descriptions for the first two seem weird to me. The Tree of Woe? It doesn't really look at all scary, just old. And for a Hall of Heroes, it's rather devoid of the statues I would expect to see of said Heroes. They're both still rather cool though, the tree more so IMHO.

Too bad they had to discontinue when they lost the rights to make Warmachine specific stuff. I believe they sold the last of them during the last post Christmas blowout. You'll have to look to Ebay or other sources for used ones.

I've got some of their Battlefield in a Box ruins and river sections, they're great. Can't wait for that Hall of Heroes or Elven Tower, although I'd want to see the Tower before buying as it's a lot more detailed than anything I've gotten from them before and I'd want to make sure all the red/gold was where it should be...

Yah, a quick google around and the cheapest I could find was £35 and postage, I'll just save the pic and stick it in my to do list.

The Warmachine terrain was single piece polystone, so no chance to just release a kit or make easy conversions.
And the 35-45£ are estimated 50% discounts from the original retail price. The models were top quality, nicely painted, but polystone can break if treated or transported roughly. I assume that the above sets are similar in quality and price.

BTW they do nice comission terrain, browse here:

For reference, here are the other two missing warmachine terrain pieces:

That's really cool stuff. If they're priced like the Warmachine stuff then they'll be a little on the pricey side for me though.

It IS awesome, but will likely be too expensive for most!

Still, fantastic!

I only like the Hall of Heroes. I can't look at the Tree of Woe without wondering why the big-ass tree and its root system haven't brought the whole tower down, while the Elven Guardtower is too small to justify the ornate doors. It feels like you'd open that bottom door and find nothing but a ladder.

I'm thinking it'll probably be in the range of the other ruins, which were about $40 CAD. So about 20-30 Euros, but I'm not sure what that is in Krone, sorry

Those elven towers are quite classy. Reminds me of the terrain from the WHFB 5th edition battles book! Very oldschool.

I'm not a fan of the high elf tower, but as a wood elf player, the tree one is quite appealing . I agree that it does not look scary at all, but it's a great base for a centerpiece project!

not sure where most people are getting the "too expensive" from. The prepainted city stuff they already have is tough as nails and cheaper than the GW kits. We've bougth quite a bit for our local club and it's neigh indestructible.

Agree... If I didn't already have an Imperial Sector, I would have gone in for some of their city stuff. I have some of the Dragon's Teeth and rivers, though. They're all top notch and reasonably priced. I also have one of the Cygnar Storm Research Stations. Very nice. But I can't comment on the price as I got it in the Warstore close-out on GF9 Warmachine items.

Still, GF9 is making some very nice stuff that's reasonably priced.

Those are not too shabby at all! I might have to pick some up if they are pretty decently priced. I hate painting terrain.

And damn, I didn't realize those WM buildings were prepainted. I would have picked them up when they were on clearance at the FLGS.
