So, I fancy going back to the US next year - it's been a few years, and I have lots of friends I want to see.

However, when thinking of when to do this wee holiday, I thought maybe I'd combine it with one of the BIG tournaments, and go play a great big US 40k tourney for a weekend as well.

What should I go to? Adepticon? NOVA? Something else? Where and when are they?

I'll most likely be going to either NYC or LA, but I don't mind hopping on an internal flight for the weekend.

EDIT - I'll be in NYC in February for work anyway, but I doubt there's anything going on in Feb, right?

Chicago (Adepticon) is a great town. Not much going on that time of year... but I expect a big tourney and gaming nightlife will keep you plenty busy.

Mikhaila runs the St. Valentine's Day Massacre in Media, PA in February - that's a short enough trip from NY, if you're around on the right dates.

If you only come to one tournament, Adepticon is the place to be. I look forward to watching the Nova Open grow next year after an extremely promising beginning, but for sheer scale and number of options, Adepticon is unrivaled.

Thanks!

Well, Adepticon seems the one - but when is it?

EDIT - So Adepticon is April 1st to 3rd, which I definitely can't do! Booked for a show in the UK. However - if the St.Valentines Day Massacre is the same weekend at 2010 (26/27 Feb in 2011), then I can attend that one - after my job finishes. So I guess the next question is... if I can't go to Adepticon, what should I go to?

Im in the same boat as Ketara on this one.
Want to see how it works over the water.

OT: while im yet to attend any of them, i would lean towards adepticon mainly due to what ive seen and heard about it.
Looks great, so thats when im planning (maybe in another year though, more important things come 1st)

Three people already? Maybe we should form a Dakka detachment and descend on Adepticon en masse!

Aww. I'm booked on a job already that Adepticon weekend - I'll be in the UK, unfortunately.

I should be able to do St. Valentine's Day Massacre, though, since I'm out there that weekend already.

So, if I can't go to Adepticon, what should I go to?

You're more than welcome at the NOVA Open next year; we'll be a full convention, so a wide variety of events to participate in; happy to help facilitate as I am able given the complications of your travel arrangements.

Washington, DC location, late August
