Im in the process of doing NMM to this sister of battle, the celestial. Im hoping for some feedback. I have to go back and blend the colors a little better to get the right effect. Im trying to perfect the NMM thing.
Hope you like her thus far.

looks great so far, and I would like some better pictures.
As for improvement, I would increase the contrast in the red cloak and bring the skin tone up a level to add a focus point on the front of the model.

Looks good. The cloak needs dark shading though.

Agreed on the shading on the cloak. Im thinking either oil washes and blends or GW washes. Not sure which. I did a few Oil washes on the NMM to smooth out transitions (little secret Im trying to perfect) Oil paints thinned down and applied then brushed in to smooth out colors. It seems to work for most colors. Here is an update.

your almost there!!! the way you have it right now. it looks like a very clean leather. metal has a much higher contrast between the parts that are reflecting directly and those that are not. i am so used to doing it on black power armour it is hard for to give useful advice.... i am sure you know what you are doing anyway.
and props for using oil pants... i am too impatient to use those and my wet blending skills are... non-existent.
you are so close. can't wait to see it finished

So Some more WIPS Im not too happy with sicarius he was rushed. I dont like the blue all that much. I need to go back and blend it better. I do like the cape thats about it.
The chaplain is me attempting to paint black armor (highlighted) with oil paints. Im trying to get a natural reflection to it. Not working so well either.

I think the Sicarius model looks great with one exception. Mold lines on a wonderfully painted model makes me sad. File down that plasma pistol before it's too late!

Just two other display WIPS. These are just kind of small projects I have been working on. The first is called "phantoms of the battlefield" Next is an inquisitor with newly captured demon heralds.

I dig the scenic bases. I essentially like the sniper, but that's cause I've got a soft spot for those romantic loners.
I'm not really getting an Inquisitor feel from the Termi, though I may be missing some details in the pic. He looks cool tho.

That IG helmet looks really stupid on top of that ghoul. Otherwise those buddys look pretty awesome. Waiting for painted pics!

Nice work on the sniper and inquisitor. The scenic bases make them look even better!

The cadian helmet is just to keep the 40k theme. Does it look that bad? :(

I think the implied motion in the Inquisitor model is excellent. Also its a daemon its supposed to be weird.

Some updates. Tell me what you think.
I went with Red on the inquisitor and gold NMM to make him pop. I will be adding freehand symbols and patterns as well in the near future. The demons with be a rotting pinkish flesh.

Hi brush_slip
There is some really nice stuff in here at the WIP stage and in your gallery.
I really like the Inquisitor concept and the pose with the ghouls looks great. To me it looks like he is using them as psychic sniffer dogs to find a witch coven or similar.
Now the idea is fine and would fit the theme and 40kfy the fantasy models.. perhaps its the pictures and the angle but the cadian helmet just doesn't look right. The first picture, under the sniper, shows it best (or its worst?). The helmet looks like it is hovering on top...like it doesn't fit the skull. Would it be possible to shave the skull down a bit and put the helmet back on lower down the skull?
Thanks for sharing such cool stuff
Peter

Wow, I think it is great you moved from painting army's to giving tlc to inpsiring pieces!
My suggestion would be to slap some horns or icons onto those ghouls, just to make them your own and not 'inquisitor with ghouls'
Other than that, particularly loving the bases! Keep it up Brushy!

Thanks tom
Yea its been a while since I have actually posted WIP pictures. I just kind of have soo much on my desk at this time. I really am trying to break into the professional side of the hobby. I have some connections going but I just have to work harder to get the overall look and perfection of my painting up to a better level.
Im hoping to actually go to GD Chicago this year. I have some ideas. I may let you in on them. Get some feedback and what not.
