Some more work done on my Destroyer worked up from a Russ chassis I salvaged from e-bay. It stinks of 2 baths of Dettol and I just hope that primer will stick to the damn thing

Main work was reversing the tracks to give it a bit more of an S-Tank vibe and to work up the applique skirts. The idea is taht the textured panels are replacable chunks of armour bolted on the side. Therefore they are in varying states of distressedness. I was also feeling a bit demented and whomped up a knackered barrel for it to represent weapon destroyed results

The heavy stubber is supposed to be a little mini turret type thing that can also be removed.

Still to do include getting the track guards on to hide the mess on top and to get some GS to hide the joint between the barrel and the hull.

If anyone has any other bright ideas feel free to add

Not too keen on the main weapon, personally. Just looks like a piece of plastic tubing at the minute. I do like what you've done with the rest of the tank, though, especially the armour. Well done.

Its a fair point. The cooling fins were added to make it a bit more interesting. What is it missing? Wires or just some raised patterning on the barrel?

The FW version is pretty plain as well, but has a rather more built up connection into the hull. I will be adding some kind of GS cloth cover to hide the connection but make it look like the barrel can be elevated and turned a bit.

I think my main problem with it is that it's too thick. I would cut it off just after the fins, and replace that section with a smaller diameter tube. You could probably get away with making it slightly longer this way.

If I was doing a weapon witrh recoil then that would be a great idea, however I deliberately wanted to have this thing thick and chunky as its supposed to be some kind of solid state laser, hence the modded lenses at the end. (also I don't have any thinner diameter tubing )

I think the fins are fine, but I think they are too large. If you want some additional barrel detail, you could run some cabling down the length of the barrel for coolant, power, etc.

Thanks Ifurita. The fin sizing was largely dictated by the plasticard stocks I had available and I don't want to screw anything up by trying to modify it at this stage

I like to think that they have deliberately been oversized by those clever cogboys to allow for some inevitable battle damage degrading their performance

I have now added 3 cable/pipe bits as well. I'll add more detailing on painting I think. I originally left the hole in the centre of the lens assembly to allow for a light rod and an internal LED that haven't quite worked as I'd hoped. They might get retrofitted at a future date.

This^^^^. i think a great job as always. just the fins are 2x the size they should be, IMHO.

i dont have a problem with the fins at all i think the barrel itself is to wide :/ i do love the side plating though. and you said you added the fins because you thought it looked to plain, add a scratch built plow to help liven things up

I did try to add a bulldozer blade along the same lines as the one on the S-Tank, but there are major differences between the Russ kit and the S tank that made it rather tricky, so I gave up (Even tried to create a collapsible blade...)

I like it, except for the fins. They're a bit big, and to me look out of place. I love the side armor, that is some nice plasticard work.
