Here is my test for SW sceme. This was an extra model of mine, and I decided it will be my Rune Priest. (that's why he is covered in runes)
Also, the SW grey paint I used was uber chunky, even after adding a ton of old Testors paint thinner. (I brought the paint back from CA via airplane last summer )

(The inkwash is still drying in places)

Tell me what you think.

To me it looks like he's just finished painting his house. I think maybe the runes could be sharper to identify what the splashes of colour are.

If I am not in my room, is it still my room?

How would I go about doing that?
Should I go over the runes with a different color, outline them, etc?

And they look a little better in person. the ink drying made them look a bit weird.

Have you got a black fineline pen {the technical drawing kind} ? if so i would use one to add shadows to the underside of the runes so they look 3d rather than painted on .
but good idea mite have to break out a old letter stamp set ive got {the kind you use to put zip codes on bike frames and stuff} and make some molds for my minis

Yeah, if they were outlined a bit sharper in a better contrast you could see them more clearly. Don't get me wonrg it looks good. I can't see the sword but the effect at the base is good, looks like a metallic flame effect.

If I am not in my room, is it still my room?

I'll take a pic of the sword when I get back from dinner.

Its just mechrite red with orange 'lightning'
I wanted it to look elemental, but I didn't want to paint it with the normal blue lightning I usually do. I think it kinda looks like lava

The face looks great, not too sure about the runes though, they seem too bright.

I really like seeing the marine i sent you covered in paint! He is looking good. I like the way the yellow and gray mix!

The yellow really needs more layers; I can see the coat underneath.

I really like the idea of the paint job, but I do think the Runes should be more clearly defined somehow. It is still a nice piece though

Ok, sorry for lack of sword picture. I gotta shower, etc and then I'll get up some pictures.

For the runes, I may use a micro pen (or a tiny brush) and add black to the undersides of the runes, or something...
I am going to try to get them to pop.

Yeah perhaps work on the runes, they kinda look like my pj's. But aside from that good work

If you can't beat 'em... join 'em. If they won't let you, well then you're screwed.
