I have a question for Dakka. I have just brought a copy of fallout 3, installation went well but didn't show any short cuts and didn't show up in my bethesda folder in my start up menu, and when I go to play it, it keeps freezing in the start up video thing (where you set your sex etc) does anyone know why. My computer is on windows 7 if it matters.

What are your computer specs?

Im not sure what my computer specs are but they were top of the range in October last year.

Specs would be a huge help here but if you don't know them all i can tell you do to is try uninstalling and installing again.

Also if you are using Windows 7 64bit then bear in mind that 32 bit apps will be placed by default within C:\Program Files(x86) rather than \Program Files hance why it might not seem to be there.

I think I might of found the problem apparently fallout 3 freezes on quad core cpu. Great.

If your specs arn't up to scratch the game won't run.

You really need to find those out.

That sucks... I have a quad core cpu.. I should see if my install can even run.

Can't find the shortcut sounds like a Windows 7 ahem feature.

mm try going to the Start menu and do a search for Fallout see what pops up. Try searching the harddrive for "fallout" a directory or something should pop up.

The shortcut will not necessarily go in the "Bethsheda" folder if you have or have had previous games installed.

After that uninstall/ reinstall and be sure and select "shortcut on desktop" "shortcut in start menu" if you have the options.
