Very nice battle report, and very nice models.

If you don't mind, I'll give you some advice.

You need more shooting. Period. Assault nids just can't compete anymore, especially against the top-tier armies. They need shooting as well as assault to be able to compete. The majority of armies nowadays are mech. Trying to wreck them via assault is just not efficient enough, because they will use their vehicles to delay you/block you off. The more competitive builds have easily 8-12 vehicles at 2K. It's just too tough to beat them by chasing them down and hitting them on 6's.

Don't get me wrong. You have a good army with a good foundation and I'm sure you do well with them, but when you play against enough good mech armies and you will find that you just aren't competitive enough. What would put your army over the top and make it competitive even against the best armies out there is more AT. Drop 1 tyrant guard and the venomthrope for 2 more hive guards and you will find your list much more efficient. Me, I'd rather go with 9 hive guards at NOVA or other such tournaments.

No doubt, its just sad that I've gotta bring 9 hg to have a chance against mech lists. I guess if SW all bring max missile fangs and chaos bring 9 oblits, its all relative.


I'm working on a list with 9 hg and tfexes, but I need to buy and convert more models before I can play it.

I don't think I'll ever use more than 6 personally but that's probably just me. I've found that even mech heavy you can compete by killing mech w/CC.

But it's so much easier to blow them away with 18 S8 shots and then drop 6 large blasts on the bunched-up, disembarked infantry.

Yeah man with Tim and his dark eldar. I dunno if batreps will be possible. I think it will be too distracting and be over my multi-tasking abilities.

I am going to try to take some pictures, I am playing my Slaanesh Daemons with Chris's Tzeetch Daemon army.

Should be a fun time, I just wish I had time to get it painted for the tournament.

I think most will be unpainted TBH. I know Ben, Terry, Smitty, and Andy are bringing orks and only Terry's will be done I think.

Tim's dark eldar are painted, but I'm bringing 37 genestealers and 20 gargoyles which are mostly not hehe.

I am looking forward to the tournament, its always more fun to win/lose as a team. Rumor has it the turnout is going to be really good as well.

I think they are taking the same lists they plan to bring to Adepticon. I was trying to get two more people to do Nurgle and Khorne for it, but there aren't many Daemon players around the area.
