Hello

I been playing with Bretonnia my whole life, but, with the new rules, they are not the same...

So, I need a new army, one that I really like on the table, and with a lot of skill in combat.

the problem is that I only like the humans, and the Empire... well, is not a reallly strong HTH combat army

looking for ideas, I think about an strong human fighter, and the answer appears in the Avatars of War Website: a Barbarian

So, I star to think about it, and decide to create a whole barbarian army.

I order a ton of GW marauders, and some figures from other companies, and here you have some already painted figures, specially lords and heroes:

They will be the lords and heroes of the army, and I will use the orc rules

The question is about the list, using a lot of barbarians, maybe a chariot...

And now, with the new rules, I'll need a big 'count as' spider... any ideas? a mumak?

thanks for your advices.

War mammoth?

Maybe a pair of giant boars or similar creatures (tuskors etc) with a structure suspended between them mounting a catapult or whatever the spider has. You could always go down the Conan route and go for a big gribbly monster, the badies always seem to like those for some reason, or you could even just go for something like some ogres-ie big guys-, lugging a platform between them-maybe a sled or them all hefting it on their shoulders-, or, heh, having a slave giant or warbeast with the platform suspended on its back-or maybe the giant throwing a big rock like they do with hammers in the olympics...ie count as catapult. Meh, just things off the top of my head. Keep up the work on your army, heh, but definately stick more Conan references in there. ^^

Thanks!

it's a long story, but I HAVE the war mamoth... yep, the one from forge world...

the problem is... is too big... even for the size of the spider

but the elephant idea es really good, I'm thinking in a mumak, or perhaps the mammoth from dwarf wars, it all depends of the money.

why orcs? This is a marauder army so why not use chaos warrior rules.

I have to agree that a giant bear could replace the spider, but if you want to take the OOT angle, why not toss in some vicious dinosaurs from the lizardmen army to tote around with your barbarians.
I'm aware that barbarians and dinosaurs were not around during the same time period in our world, but dinos are all over the old world, apparently.

You may as well, the powers will get it in the end anyway (and then you can use your Mammoth with the Mammoth rules).

There are smaller mammoths out there, Black Tree Design do one ( i have it) and theres one from a range called Dwarf Wars or something, might be by Westwind.

Yep, that was the original idea:

HE MAN!

(Now I know how gay he is, but back in the 80's, was my hero, I have a lot of action figures)

I cannot find the Black tree mamooth, and the one of dwarf wars is awesome, but too expensive.
