This is a followup to last year's poll.
Sorry for requiring the US dollar amount but it is the easiest conversion for most of us. If you are not sure how to do it, just go to google and type in your amount, your currency code and then 'in USD'. So type in something like '100 AUD in USD' to convert 100 AU$ to US$. Other major currency codes are CAD for canadian, GBP for british pounds, EUR for euros, JPY for yen, RMB for chinese renminbi, ZAR for south african rand.

Prolly right around $100 dollars, down quite a bit from 2009 - and so far I have bought squat so far this year.

I didn't play in 2010, so my response is a little misleading. Over 1k so far this year, mostly because I'm just barely building my armies.

Holy crap I spent lot, easily between 500-1000, and probably more. It was only really mitigated by realizing before Black Friday that I wasn't going to have a full time job shortly. 2011 I might actually trade wargaming for money, selling some of the excessive purchases from 09 and 10.
Anyone want any Imperial Guard bits? AoBR Marines or Orks?

Glory to the Twelfth! Glory to Angron!
"Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls. The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does. That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

Brrrr thats an evil question for me ... just hope the wife doesn't see this
The Chaos Reaver alone left a hefty mark, starting CSM and getting an Airbrush system didn't help either - does redecorating a room to become a hobby / painting room also count as wargaming expenses?
So for the whole year that would be somewhere around the 5.001-10.000$ mark :(

I spent way too much really lol, I bought a 2000pt dwarf army, 1500pt high elf army, 1000pt beastmen army, 2000pt skaven army, 1000pts of eldar, all the paints, brushes and some tools, codexes and army books, a bunch of fantasy scenery and made a board. Its an expensive hobby to return to, I'm not going to add it all up, I'll pass out from shock if I do

I probably spent a grand last year, most of it on GW, but for the first time, a good chunk of it was on "tack-on" stuff like Armorcast, Gale Force 9, as well as other games like WARMACHINE, and Magic: the Gathering.
In all honesty, aside from a some Tyranid battleforces bought at 20% off, almost all of it came off ebay at steep discount; some zombie boxes at $20-22, some Dethkopta at $7-8 for three, 20 Ork boyz from Black Reach for $20, and that's about it.
Because of the economy, I made a greater effort last year to track what I spend, and this it'll be likely I'll spend almost nothing.

On the shallow end of $21-$100, for me. Didn't buy a single model in that time, but I have bought the odd tool/supply. A few new pots of paint, a trio of small clamps, some glue, calipers...
I was actually debating whether to say I spent anything, as there wasn't a single wargaming-specific item in the lot. I've got a good system keeping me in check, though: Mild poverty. By the time I can afford to buy some new models, I'll probably have painted most, if not all, of my naked models (you know, the 90% that I always really mean to get around to faster). Tools are easier to justify, as I actually do end up using them for other things, hence the small expenditure.

100-500 for me, 2 AOBR's and a Land Raider, and then some small stuff.
It was relatively close to 500, but that includes sodas and food while gaming.
I'm already off to a heavty start for this year... averaging more than 100/mo.! Automatically Appended Next Post: Also: With Khemri coming out, I'd imagine that I'm going to be in the $1500 range because of updating my army to 8th ed standards with the new book.

I just started playing last year. I got into chaos marines HUGE. Like, 8000 points in a few months. The only reason my number isn't more than $1000 is a got alot of it used and i also work for a gaming store. 40% off retail is so damn sweet. I can't leave my job until i'm done buying 40k stuff. I've saved more on 40k than i make in a month.

$2501-$5000 as a guess.
Honestly just food, travel, lodging and registration fees for Adepticon, BOLScon and the Boradside bash last year easily topped that, plus I did armies for every one too, and those are worth $500 each easily. There was also more than that, side projects, Terrain projects for local cons, Blood Angles army, Flames of War, Warmachine, paint, mat costs, sheesh...

Started playing in September 2010 and spent right around $500-600 not including hobby supplies, terrain building, and building a gaming table.
2011 is looking like a bit of a more terrifying year on the budget though.
We're at March and I'm already at $1,100, again, not including any supplies or terrain building. But, the last of play group just got a job so now he can fund his own army from here on out.
And like a lot of you, I hope my wife never gets a glance at this thread.
It's been so excessive this year that the local gaming store calls me every Wednesday to see what I'm ordering.
