I adore the new Imperial Guard general from Dawn of War Retribution. Sadly there is no figure for him (that I know of?)

So I made my own!

I'm familiar with painting but rather new to converting, and hopefully this bears a resemblance to the General. Had to hack up half of a command squad to build this guy.. bleh. And working with green stuff (or a gray equivalent which I had on hand) is really challenging. If there's any part on this I don't like, it's most of the hand-sculpted bits.

Anyway, love to hear what you guys think of him!

Just coming back from playing the Lord General in the Last Stand mode...the resemblance you managed to produce is remarkable. Really like that figure. A shame that a Company Commander has no option for a Sniper Rifle so you can actually use him "authentically" ingame.

Great job!

Indeed :( ...but I couldn't make a Castor without his trademark one-handed sniper rifle. That would be borderline heresy.

True, true. Maybe just field it as a precision Boltgun or something.

The power of the moustache! It compels me to comment!

Great work. Coming from a die-hard DOW fan, it looks really good, although I prefer him with his cool hat.

This is the kind of model you just have to make your own rules for, anyway.

I'd say take a standard company commander, make him BS5, +1 Attack, and give him a Power Sword and a Sniper Rifle. For special rules, give him Relentless to represent his bionic arm, and a "Big Game Hunter" rule that gives rerolls to wound against Monsterous Creatures in both shooting and assault. +25 points, perhaps?

If you'd like to go a little further, I'd give him his own order too, but I can't remember any of his quotes from the game.

Great job dude, looks just like 'im! And the paint job is outstanding! This is one of the best-painted models I've seen in awhile!

I can't help but notice where you got each of your parts from . Except the cape, that looks green-stuffed, and the head looks like it's a modified version of one of the plastic ones.

Hell yeah, he looks damn good! love the way you've painted him, i'm not familiar with the character but you don't need to be to know that what you've done is great looking model! mad props for the moustache!

Just give one of the vets a sniper rifle but model him as normal. Then stop using the rifle when he dies.

You can actually build him from just a command squad box, and keep the other four units intact and usable.. the only exception is the sniper option goes out the window, for obvious reasons .

The robotic arm came from the flag bearer, as well as the power sword. The rifle and a portion of his jacket came from the sniper bits. The arm holding the sword is combination of the commander pointing-arm with the hand switched out for any of his gun-holding hands, then give it the sword you cut out of the robotic arm. The chest is just one of the vanilla options, with medals glued onto it.

His jacket sleeve, mustache, collar/lapel, braids, shoulder pads, leg armor, and grenades were made out of green stuff. The head was the hatless commander option given with the kit, plus stache, and simulated hair. Most of the fine details I just mimicked with paint.. the was no way I could sculpt sideburns or that skull on his shoulder.

I forgot to do his sword sheath, which I didn't realize until I was already painting... But I imagine that would be really easy to make.. just roll out a cylinder as long as the sword and smash it slightly flat.

Great model, the sniper rifle is nice but I have to say what really works for it is the epic mustache. That has to do something for his stat line.

Good job at getting the likeness of the the Lord General. To bad about the sniper rifle. Makes me wish for the old RT days.

That is on great conversion. I particularly like the coloring for the cloak and uniform. Looks very sharp, and a unique shade of beige. Very nicely done. The mustache rules.

Wow! That is possibly the best face work I have seen this year! Possibly longer than that! Very realistic/clean. Love the conversion and the homage to the RTS!

Wow, you captured the Lord General perfectly! Anyone who has played DoW retribution will recognize the model, no doubt.

Also, are you the artist on DeviantArt under the same name? If so, I just want to say that your 40k and historical figures works are all very amazing.
