Hello,

I am new to this site, and relatively new to the hobby. I started about a year ago.
I finished painting this hive tyrant yesterday and would appreciate some feedback on it.

The base isn't finished yet and looks bad, I know.

Please, tell me what you think.

Anythng that makes me want a cremesicle is good, and this is no exception. Actually, I quite like that tone of red you have. I might have chosen more contrasting colours for the body and the armour plates, but it is still very striking. This army will look great.

The carapace is great! It really makes the model stand out. Let's not forget the skin areas - great use of colour there!

The skin areas should have a higher contrast. Example more wash in the deeper areas and more highlight on the higher areas.

I agree, I originally planned to have a bit more contrast on the skin. I don't know what happened to my plans...

I really like the carapace/armoured bits, it looks great. Agree with 40k Ninja, in that the skin just needs that little bit extra, but its still pretty good as it is.

I'm a fan of the blended pink into red on the gun, I like the carapace colours a great deal.

But I do think a further layer of highlighting or a blended colour on the 'skin' areas would be a good improvement on the brown areas which currently take up a large amount of the model but look flat atm.
