Here are a pair of Redeemers I finished for my Crimson Harrier/Chapter 13 DIY marine army. Mostly Airbrush work w/ some highlights in acrylics. Attempted a few new techniques (color modulation) but not really sure that they are apparent. I really need to kick up the contrast between the panels.

Comments/Critiques welcome.

In your wardrobe, looking for Narnia.

Wow, that's amazing!
Usually these kind of things are covered in damage and mud but I love the clean look yours have.

These do look great, good work, and I agree with the above, too many tanks have very heavy battle damage and dirt and mud, I like the cleaner look you have here.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

The tracks and bottom get more of a "rust/urban dust on them" Being Doo Doo brown marines has the disadvantage of not being able to build up mud without it looking a bit off.

The red is just Red Gore (sprayed) then mixed w/ blood red for a first highlight and followed by pure blood red for a second highlight.

Spiffy. Really spiffy, actually.

You're right, though, about the color modulation. It's kind of hit or miss - not because it's done badly anywhere, but because it isn't apparent everywhere. Looking at the first 'raider, the headlights are perfectly modulated, there's a nice gradient down the side of the tank, and there's even a nice little shadow behind the smoke launcher, but a lot of the upper surfaces have more of a feathered edge highlight than an overall gradient per panel.

It's not a bad effect for general highlights, but it doesn't have the same visual pop as modulation on a "per panel" basis. Kicking up the contrast a bit, like you were thinking, would get you where you were headed. If you still want to go there, of course. Because where you are right now isn't somewhere I'd really want to leave, but experimentation has its allure.

Again, really ace work, overall.
