Hello everyone this is my first thread hope its in the right place.
Just wondering if anyone has a pdf or download of his rules?
I vaguely remember them him having the 3+ invincible save 2 codexs ago.
I use cortez as
Captain
Power fist
Storm sheild
Artificer armour I don't know if to take a command squad just for the feel no pain.
Or would you guys think it is too many points for 1500 points ?
And that's it really thanks for reading.
Hm, I don't think that we are allowed to post rules, and stats here on Dakka. Do you have the Space marine codex? And the "Invincible" save is called an Invunerable save, and yes, I think that is a little too much points.

He was in the third ed codex, had 2 wounds, a 3+ invulnerable save, and I think he might have had some variation on eternal warrior. He wasn't terribly expensive, but he had a wonderful goofy model.
Yeah I've been trying to get hold of him.
He had bionics any one remember that I loved it lol? He was like 120 ish .
He's in the rynns world book he is soooo hard. I'm one the original crimson fists. All before this Pedro buisness.
Peace

Stats from two codexes and 13 years ago please.
I'll write this before I go find my codex, pretty sure he does no have artificer armor.
Yeah no artificer armor, but yes to a 3+ invul save. The entry is called "Imvulnerable" and in summary says his regular armor save is an invul.
His only other special rule was to ignore the first fall back wheather automatic or by a failed roll.
116pts
A captains statline from C:SM is already better.
With a power fist he would cost 9 pts more. Gains 1WS, 1W,1Ld and loses 1 from the invul. The Iron Halo is plenty.

He is a badass in that book, yeah. Pedro Kantor has been in the fluff since Rogue Trader though.
Wow this forum is awsome so fast to reply. Thank you all so much.
Auston thanks for that. I did mean to put invulnerable.
Thanks for all help. Any one got any links to any fluff at all?
At the moment I'm using the old imperial fist captain model obviously painted blue. Looks sweet.
Peace

Any fluff on the crimson fists really.
Am try to use a fluffy crimson fist army with cortez leading the way. X
Well, a fluffy Crimson Fist army will have plenty of Sternguard to represent the number of veterans in the chapter. If you read Rynn's World (which I'm assuming you have) you could definitely run a list with Pedro and a captain, and have that captain be Cortez. I have a heck of a Crimson Fist army, so check out my gallery or hobby challenge thread to have a looksee

Post your list in the army list section.
Cortez is a badass so good luck in your army.

I've now posted my army up on the right thread place.
Cortez kicks butt.
I have gone with
Captain
Artificer armour
Storm sheild
Also posted some pictures of my fists. Go have a peak tell me what you think. Peace x
Easy people I've been away fighting xenos for a long time now.
Just a update on how Cortez has been doing in my list.
I've been switching between 2 lists 1 with:
Cortez w/ command squad
Cortez w/ sternguard
The command squad is solid just combat Cortez's favorite.
Sternguard I usually jump out the transport run Cortez out the squad. Shoot Sternguard whats left Cortez finishes off.
Cortez charged on his own 12 genestealers and broodlord about a month back and only left the broodlord on 1 wound. Cortez fell during this combat but was worth it.
Hardest character ever.
Peace
Dunno if it's ok to post the rules of him now, but since it's 2 editions ago I think it might be ok?
He's 116 points (funky I know) has a bolt pistol, purity seals and a power fist. Has a rule called "Proud" making the first failed fall back (leadership) check to be ignored (this MUST be ignored) which can only be used once.
He also has the invulnerable rule as mentioned before, making hiss 3+ save invulnerable. Is an independent character but may also take a command squad.
He has the same stats as a MEQ except he has WS, Init and BS of 5. Also has 3 attacks.
Old purity seals used to allow an extra D6 for falling back and you pick whichever d6 result you want for the fall back distance.
Ok guys totally changed my mind I'm not going to have a storm sheild on Cortez. In Rynns World he takes the amulet of the chaplain that falls in the attack so his 4+ iron halo will now be the Rosarius.
Same thing different name.
I'm going to keep everything else the same.
The artificer armoour represents his bionic body not his actual armour.
Heres a quick sneak peak of the model I've done for him.
Could people have a spare 2 mins and just post if it sounds better.
It seems abit quite but can turn that up easy on my editing later.
Peace and thank you.
Spud
Hello everyone,
Today I shall receive my orginal Captain Cortez model.
The main question is should I Keep it the same model or convert it?
Thank you Peace Spud 11th Legion
Godless-Mimicry wrote:Is this Cortez a real character or just another misspelling of Coteaz?
BTW spud, do you have to post 4 times in a row? There is an edit button.
Captain Cortez is an old Crimson Fists special character. He's no longer in the rules, but he's still in some fluff; the novel Rynn's World has him prominently featured as a badass character.
