Maybe a random question, but I was wondering if anyone knew UK based guys or companies who buy big armies from game systems (In this case 40k) and split it to sell on.

Trying to find a few to get prices from for my armies as a whole as cannot be bothered selling them unit by unit. and want to try this before Ebay.

any help appreciated.

Bang it in to the swap shop pal, anyone that's interested will check it out. Be sure to specify that you're selling it as a job lot

Somewhere in south-central England.

Another option is to go to some wargame shows and put your armies in the Bring 'n' Buy.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

not many wargame shows in Belfast sadly, plus to carry these armies would need a van!

10k points + of guard, 400 odd plus men, 13+ leman russes, tons of vehicles (prob over 70) and the likes plus super heavies.

huge Eldar army, almost all codex enteries and multi squads of aspect warriors, about 25 vehicles a titan and super heavy.

a chaper of marines (963 odd men), 70+ vehicles, forgeworld stuff... this absically covers all unit types form codex marines, and 90% from the other power armour inc. grey knight codex's all the marines match and are what you see.. (basically tactical marine bodies with grey knight arms for example so all look the ame theme). all vehicles come in Qty's of atleast 3 (eg vindis, preds, baal preds, storm ravens).

canget pics for those serious about sorting something.

You should still put pictures up dude - with that kind of collection you'll one day look back and say "I wish I'd..."

No idea what the total price is - your best bet would be to calculate the current RRP price and make a 'suitable' reduction from there. I would suggest it unlikely that you would get full RRP for them even fully painted.

Also, I would find it unlikely that anyone would buy each army in it's entirety; they are just too big. While it is a pain in the arse to do so, you would be better served splitting them into smaller lots rather than trying to sell all in one go.

As sad as it is, all the time and effort that you put into painting an army is very rarely recouped when it comes to selling second hand as most people will demand a fairly suitable saving on RRP. How much you are willing to give, depends entirely of course on your motivation to sell.

Best of luck anyway!

Yeah, in general, the market of people looking to buy an entire army in one fell swoop is going to be rather small, someone looking to buy a huge army all at once even less so. Being painted is actually going to reduce their value to most people, because they're probably not going to be as interested in something that won't match their own existing armies.

If you were hoping someone was looking to grab these with the specific intent of splitting up and selling them, they'd be probably paying you even less since they're looking at a significant time and effort investment to make their money back.

Frankly, the best way to get a return on your money would be to break them up by full units, pair infantry with a transport to try and cut down on on the total number. That would get the maximum number of interested people, since more people would want a razorback and a squad of tactical, than a half dozen razorbacks and hundreds of tacticals.

Your armies are going to have to go in pieces. Try Bartertown and the swapshop here.

usual going price on Ebay is

65%of normal cost
+10% if unpainted/primed
-15% if painted
+30% if table top and everything is ready to go.
+90% if the painting well
x4 cost if studio quality

The market thresehold is hard enough to gauge with warhammer. Usually armies sell better when their new codex comes out.

You already knew all of this.....
