Subject: 2000 Pt Ork Footslogger List

Hello,
I'm new and have decided to go with orks. Before I start buying stuff I'd like to work out a decent list.... let me know what you guys think:
Bigmek + Kustom Force Field + Burna = 105
26 Orks + Nob + Power Claw + Boss Pole = 196
26 Orks + Nob + Power Claw + Boss Pole = 196
26 Orks + Nob + Power Claw + Boss Pole = 196
26 Orks + Nob + Power Claw + Boss Pole = 196
26 Orks + Nob + Power Claw + Boss Pole = 196
10 Lootas = 150
10 Lootas = 150
1 Deffkopters + 1 Twin Linked Rokkit Launchers = 45
1 Deffkopters + 1 Twin Linked Rokkit Launchers = 45
1 Deffkopters + 1 Twin Linked Rokkit Launchers = 45
3 Killa Kan = 105
3 Killa Kan = 105
3 Killa Kan = 105
Total 1835
It seems like I would have a hard time with mech armies. Also, what else should I pick up? Weapons, etc. Notice I still have some points to spare. I was thinking of going all shootas on the boyz, would it be better to have a combination of choppas and shootas? Thanks!

You have some choices that are not optimal.
First only one Big Mek means you will have trouble covering the 9 killa kans. It can be done but will reduce the size of the screen for the boyz.
Second Killa kans should have rokits, they are the best ork shooters in the codex so take advantage of them with S8 AP3 weapon. Great for popping vehicles or denying armour saves.
You are probably better with just 2 deffkopters but with TLRL and buzzsaw.
Lootas are probably better divided in three squads as well.

Alright cool, here's the revised list. Any other thoughts? All shootas are fine for the boyz? Lootas will be beneficial? Or more boyz?
Bigmek + Kustom Force Field + Burna = 105
Bigmek + Kustom Force Field + Burna = 105
26 Orks + Nob + Power Claw + Boss Pole = 196
26 Orks + Nob + Power Claw + Boss Pole = 196
26 Orks + Nob + Power Claw + Boss Pole = 196
26 Orks + Nob + Power Claw + Boss Pole = 196
25 Orks + Nob + Power Claw + Boss Pole = 190
5 Lootas = 75
5 Lootas = 75
5 Lootas = 75
1 Deffkopters + 1 Twin Linked Rokkit Launchers + Buzzsaw = 70
1 Deffkopters + 1 Twin Linked Rokkit Launchers + Buzzsaw = 70
3 Killa Kan + Rokkit Launcha = 150
3 Killa Kan + Rokkit Launcha = 150
3 Killa Kan + Rokkit Launcha = 150
Total 1999
Again thanks for the advice!

If you wish to add more boyz or Lootas another viable option is Grotzookas on the Kans. Giving 1 squad them will save you enought pts for around 3 or 4 boys. Also I would rather combine those lootas into 2 squads one of 7 and one of 8. This will make you more likley to kill the target. EDIT: for boys I like a ration of 2:1 Shootas to Sluggas + Choppas. For a Kan wall anyway. But that is my preference. Some may say a 1:1 some may say 1:2. it all depends.

I really like your new list.
On foot the rule of thumb is to always use shootas. They have a higher range so give you a lot more flexibility plus increase your threat range. Lootas are normally run into squads of 5 or 15 due to the poor leadership

I regularly run a list very similar to this. And have had ALOT of success with it. I'm ttalking going from a guanteed loss against CSM to the same player considering conceding
I use grotzookas personally, since the kans struggle when they get stuck in, (had a squad of 2 that got stuck in and stayed that waythe entire game from turn 2- turn 7). Then have the kans assault the vehicles. I would recommend haveing a 7 man squad of diversified nobs to take care of anything the boyz can't. And I have 2 shoota boy squads and 1 sluggardly choppa squad, I always reserve one shoota boy squad to capture objectives late game. Set the lootas up in cover and watch the 48" turn the enemy into gak!
I only use 1 or 2 defkoptas as an outflanking wild card. TL RL and if I'm feelng spunky buzzsaws.
But this is my list, it works for me. Play around and see what works for you! I just rewrote another list useimg max kans/dreads and max lootas! I think it would be a fun list, once I get the lootas, I'm gonna give it a spin Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh, and, welcome to team xenos, but more importantly, welcome to the green side. Awesome, thanks for the tips. I've been reading online that the Khan Wall is one of the most successful strats for Orks. Any races or types of armies you have a particularly hard time with?

There are a few builds that orks struggle in general. Any army that can spam armour value above 11 will be a big problem, due to the lack of reliable, quality long range shooting (lootas are only S7 and their leadership becomes a problem with small squads). Armies that can outmanoeuvre you will also cause you problem since you are relying on a one dimension army (you need to move together and rely on facing armies on the front)

Complete the kan wall and remove a mob of boys for 2 deff dreads. (Looks like what your doing.)
A very nice list, but I see no reason for a burna on the mek, except for the power weapon-ness. The wall of kans and boys hit the enemy before you will even get a template off.

I wanted to state for the record that, my kan wall struggled pretty bad against long fang spam and pally spam. i switched over to a speed freek army reently and have been havng hellacious amount of fun pulling pranks with them. i m using 2 battle whagons (nobs,burnas),3 trukks loaded with boys, 15 stormboyz with zagstrukk, 5 alpha strike koptas, and 9 bikers. I just run circles round armie and hit from random sides it is a blast but in the same breath if i dont have the whole army ontop of you by turn 3 im SOL.

That seems like your freek list then, don't hate on other lists because you play a lot of Space Puppies and Silver Lightyears!
It all depends on how the OP plays and thinks how his army should work, not us!

Theres counters to all lists, gotta find which list works best for you Automatically Appended Next Post: On a side note: Kan wall is working beautifully for me! But my turns take forever since I'm fielding close to 100 models, and each one of them (minus 15 lootas) require movement and running or shooting and sometimes assault.
A Battlewagon list doesn't have this problem seeing as most of the game the BWs are usually the only ones moving around.
So don't get discouraged when a 2k Kan Wall game takes 4+ hrs... Trade the kans and DDs for BWs and BAM! Totally new list!

Personally, I like the bigger loota squads. They are more likely to get guaranteed kills on transports and as a larger unit and but a lot of hurt on infantry. However, I can't shoot at as many different targets with the lootas. If I'm going against a heavy mech army, I'll split my lootas into three squads. Otherwise, I run two squads of ten. Just what I like to do, and if you have that FoC slot open, you can make that choice right as you walk into a game, provided it's just a friendly game you're playing. I run a list quite similar to this, and I love it. I don't have the burnas on the meks and I find I don't miss them. I'd just play around with how you personally want your lootas to perform, because I see valid arguments for keeping them big or keeping them small.

It depends on preference for loota mobz. I like small units because I can tuck them away in corners all over the board. (Tops of buildings, inbetween rock formations, etc)

Regardless, you should either run lootas in squads of 15 or squads of 5, I like my squad of 15 they survived an onslaught and continued to wreck havok on the CSM player

I disagree I prefer squads of 12 or 13 as 15 can often be overkill. I have run a squad of 8 before with some sucess but they are onyl marginally better than a squad of 5.

If you play it out right, then your lootas should not have to worry too much about being attacked. IF they do get attacked, that means that somethign got through your advance that shouldn't have. OR they deepstriked. By the time my lootas get killed is after they have done their job. So no worries there. (I run one mob of 5 lootas)

My 2 friends who I play most are CSM and they always have something to deepstrike my lootas. Which usually makes something impotant, like nobs, turn around to adress the threat.
My squad of 15 was able to survive a psychic attack that moves them how the opponent deems fit(lash of pain?), followed by a pie plate, all outside of cover... 4 lived made thier save, and continued to immobilize and wreck 2 more rhinos(which were moving in to contest). Automatically Appended Next Post: Kommizzar, I've had too much miss on the hit and miss side of 5man loota squads, the only reason I'd run min lootas is no points or not enough models. With 15 it's almost a promised wreck, maybe even an explosion which makes any Ork happy
