Okay. I want to start a new army. I have a decently fun SM Bike list written, but I love the lore of Black Templars. I love their style, they are badass incarnate. Thing is, I am having a hard time making a good list. I haven't had much experience with them, and they are a dated codex. Transports are pricey, and so are special options like bikes. I know they can get upgrades up the ass like POTMS on Vindicators, but things can get costly.
So here is what I am asking. Can the internet help me design a good 1500 point army for Black Templars? Preferably using the Templar's codex, but I realize it makes it challenging. I want to avoid their "broken" choices like cheap missile spam. Thats not the Templar's style. I'd like to stick to troops on foot (rhinos are ridiculous) and with a wall of armoured protection if possible. Hell, I dont even know if thats effective. Please help!

BT are extremely competitive and TBH can be a threat in CC or Shooting its how you build your list. I dont mind paying 50 points to keep my troops safe for a turn or two. And while some things are expensive others are cheap, like our Landspeeder typhoons are only 70 points compared to the SM's 90 points now if you take 6 BT landspeeders you save 120 points that you can use else where. Dont forget BT play by the old rules meaning i can have a 5man squad w/ LC and Plasmagun and dont need to buy the extra 5 guys theres ~50 points you save. Same thing goes with our Terminators 2 special weapons, If you take CML and take TH you have a pretty deadly anti armour or horde. Whiie PotMS is beastly on Vindicators if you put it on a Preditar you can possible pop 2 tanks w/ one vehicle. If you are looking for an assault based 1500 list you might wanna add in something i mentioned above or your list will be dead b4 it gets to the other side of the table (especially if your not taking rhinos)
