Here you will find my blog for my current Ork project I have built up around 3000 points of Goff's and Deathskulls but havent really done too much with them for the last year or so. It was when the new plastic fliers came out I knew I had to do something with them! My initial thought was to do speed freaks but I throught that was too obvious so I decided a different theme was needed.....and so the bloodaxe Dakkawaffe was born!

This will be a Apoc sized force and the fighta's and fighta-bommas will be following the Imperial armour rules and not those in the WD mag (although I have made sure they can proxy for both).

So here is the first Fighta-Bomma

really nice paintjob! but the base is a bit plain imo

Open to ideas on how tospice up the base!

Luft is German for Air, and Waffe is Weapon, so you're calling it a DakkaWeapon, which is pretty much everything Orks have. A better name would be Luftdakka, and I think it puns better on Luftwaffe too.

I know what you mean. I just thought DakkaWaffe had a wing (sorry couldnt resist) to it lol

Although Luftdakka does sound good!

Just had these guys arrive today!

Forgot how small the old Orks were guess I had smaller hands back in those days.

Now the question is how do I paint them?

1) As space wolves (my second army)
2) As Beil Tan using their green skin as the green helm (my step bro's army)
3) In German Grey like the rest of the boyz

Quite pleased with how these chaps turned out next plan is the second fighta.

Bit of a painting marathon today and managed to get the fighta done.

The assortment of ork has in this thread has me captivated (and all the awesome models, obviously).

Hope you included all of those old Ork models in your Ork army, rather that SW or whatever the third option was, they’re awesome!

I did paint up one of the old RT Mega Nobz in SW colours and turned out pretty good
