Got myself a boxed copy of Man O War the other day - looking forward to getting stuck in. Just as a bit of background, Man O War was one of those GW oddities in that the forces in the box set didn't really lend themselves to the start of a collection; you got 12 war galleys - 6 Empire, 6 'Pirate' ones. So I need to start building up some decent fleets. Unfortunately, the Ebay scalpers have long since had their eyes on Man O War (in the same way as they do with Epic Squats and Tyranids) so anything that crops up there goes for a small fortune. Anyone got any ideas about possible alternative models? The leading candidate seems to be Uncharted Seas but the scale difference worries me. Has anyone successfully used these as substitutes? How did it work out? Is Man O War entirely dependant on scale or can you get away with plus sizing the ships? The other alternative is the Green Forest Trading Co who do a line of suspiciously original looking Empire and Dwarf fleets, but that's about it (so no Orcs, Brets, Elves, Dark Elves etc)

Anyone got any thoughts or experience they can chime in with?
