Hey Dakka, I've realized that with the Dark Angels codex coming out, I may have a deathwing army ready to field. I have ten standard terminators, and five assault terminators. Would this be enough to field a deathwing army at 1500 points? I'm not really familiar with exactly how many terminators they use.

Under the current codex, that's barely 700 points. Let's wait til we can actually see the new codex, then we'll know the new points totals.

You'd still need an HQ; Belial is (in the soon-to-be-phased-out dex) required to unlock Terminators as Troops, but he's just a Terminator captain really. If you were to convert a suitable model, you'd be in the clear.

Wait for the new book. If the rumors are true, Deathwing have a base squad as Troops and Knights as Elites, if that's the case you could get your own Terminator commander instead of Belial; in any case, fifteen Terminators is around 600pts plus upgrades, you'll need at least twice that many dependent on how the new units are priced.

Going by the Codex page pics in the WD, both DW and Knights are elites.

You may need a few more, but some smart shopping online can do that easily and cheaply. You can go to The Warstore, and buy a squad of Dark Vengeance Terminators as bitz for $14.99US, and that will add 25% more to your force for less than a Special Character! at that point, 20 Terminators should easily be enough for some fun small games, like 750pts.

You may need Belial to field a legal DW army, but you can use any appropriately armed Terminator model for him if you don't want to buy the official one.
