Hey guys, so I'm planning on buying a Valkyrie kit and I don't know what to make it into, I want it to transport a squad of 10flamer storm troopers, it will deliver them onto an objective and clear it, then fly off by itself to cause damage else where. But which variant would work better for this job? I run a foot infantry list with Russ support for an overview of what I'm adding too. Also side not me is there a cheap way to convert a vendetta? Or is forge world the best way to go?

Vendetta is the best flyer in-game, currently. You cannot go wrong with it.

Valkyrie is more list-specific, and really not that hot in comparison.

Your best bet for conversions would be Heavy Weapons Team Lascannons (but you should be using those on HWT's) or Razorback Lascannons.

The Forgeworld conversion kit is beautiful though, if you have the spare cash I'd definitely recommend it.

You could also use the storm raven lascannons. All the options listed above and in my post are easily sourced on ebay. You want the vendetta for sure. No matter what role. If you are even remotely handy with modeling you can magnetize the options which is a very good skill you should learn in this hobby.

Guard have plenty on anti infantry on the ground. LRBT (which he has supporting), Manticores, artillery, etc. In the skies you want lascannons for popping flyers and other vehicles. YMMV but I feel vendettas are a no brainer. Also noting the OP has indicated that flamers are dropping out as well as running a foot infantry list there. Another source for anti infantry. He isn't running Elysian DT.

Usually.

I agree that the Vendetta is pretty much auto-include, but there ARE places where a Valkyrie actually can supersede it. Small as they may be.

You are right for sure, I was merely indicating that his list would support/need the vendetta much more

I used storm talon lascannons extensively. I also built mine out of Dakkajets

I used some spare predator turret tl lascannon on mine and grouped them around the cockpit for a tighter shot spread. A pair on each side of the cockpit and 2 in the nose.

............... What the hell did i just see ........ Vendetta Hands down --- Any Self respecting Guard player whould have a couple lascannons laying around -- I can't even believe you asked which one ,but it is resonable , Vendetta for killing armor , Valk with MRP for killing hordes mainly meta dependent
