The one on the left is simply primed and then washed Seraphim Sepia, whereas the right is basecoated, washed sepia, then colors blocked back in with Menoth White Base.
Which style looks better? Obviously the one on the left took no time at all... just wondering if all the extra effort is worth it (because my mix of MWB is the new mix after their reformulation (which covers for crap)).

The one of the left looks unfinished, so I'd go with the one on the right.

The Seraphs of Thunder: a homebrew, almost entirely converted successor Deathwing. And also some Orks. And whatever else I have lying around. |

I think a happy medium between the two would be ideal. Maybe apply a thin wash or two over the one on the right to give it better shadows.
I definitely prefer the one on the right though.

Thirded (or possibly fourthed) The one on the right looks much cleaner.

Imperial guard: Because quantity has a quality of it's own.
Sisters of Battle can be used in any game, with the exception of chess, Monopoly and of course, Warhammer 40,000.
After 8 editions, you might have thought that GW could get fantasy right. |

I'd pick the one on the right. Although i am inclined to agree with farseer. If you could fine a happy medium it would look great.

Thanks for the input, guys.
I ended up airbrushing them buypainted style. Going to get my oil for the wash after work...
