Has anyone else played this gem of a game? The same friend who introduced me to 40k has a collection of beautifully painted old west models and I'm starting to paint a U.S. cavalry outfit based off the 7th Cavalry led by none other than George A. Custer himself. I have yet to play a game, I was wondering what the general consensus is on the ruleset? Is it worth playing, or are there better old west systems out there?

Yup - it's a great ruleset. Very difficult to get hold of the books, however. I was lucky to get hold of one off an Amazon reseller for £20 but they can go for upwards of £40 on Ebay.

If you are looking for something similar and in-print, then check out the Blackwater Gulch game (there is a sub forum for it here on Dakka)

The friend I mentioned has the full set of books. For the first few games I plan on using those, and if it hooks me I guess I'll have to fork out the money for my own set.

Thanks for the recommendation for Blackwater Gulch. I'll be sure to check that out!
