To keep things short, I'd like to craft some sort of spider sentry to mount heavy weapons on to for use in my IG army. Anyways, I can't seem to find any good ideas for setting one up, nor can I find much in the way of similar models to cut and model with extra bits and guns. Anyone have any ideas how I can go about this?

this is pretty vague. Do you want something like a stalk tank? a sentinel with more legs and a bigger platform? do you want to mount a basilisk onto a a defiler?

The size you are aiming is comparable to what? A devastator SM, or a regular battle tank on spider legs?

In any case, look the Necron range, thay have spider legsfor everything, from single guys to MC.

yup or for that matter look into robo gear bitz... that might provide you with some good looking spider like bitz...

I use these as sentinels, but you could probably use them, or soemthing similar, as heavy weapon teams.

It's going to replace heavy weapon squads, so It will be placed on a 60mm base. I want it to look like it could sustain the recoil from whatever he's shooting. With parts from a vox pack, and some other bits and pieces I think I could design everything except the legs and body. That's the part that really perplexes me.

@flinty - Those are nice but way to bulky for what I'm trying to do. Also I don't have spare sentinel parts lying around.

What about the Dreamforge Mule thingies? Try sticking a heavy weapon to one of them. They don't look too fast, so they fit the aesthetic of a slow moving heavy weapon, and you could easily have an operator as a second model on a 60mm base.

I guess, the more I think about, the imperium probably wouldn't use a spider like contraption. Not bulky enough.

that leaves treads and tires, but I'm not sure how to go about that. I could always mount them on the thunderfire, but that's not a very cost effective method. The search for a mobile heavy weapons platform continues!
