Apologies if this has been answered before. I'm kind of new to this.

I've tried uploading images to a forum post but they're not coming out. I've added the images to the article system and used the code [[img:filename]]

Can you display images like this or do they have to be uploaded to the gallery system instead?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK, so the article system and the forum system are two different things - images uploaded to the article system are only for use within articles, not forum posts. To do that, you have to upload your image to the regular gallery, so click Gallery at the top of the page, go to my gallery homepage and upload your images there (assuming they are wargaming related)


Automatically Appended Next Post:
Once uploaded to the gallery, click on the image you want to post and you will see there is a 'Share this image' section where you can copy/paste the code and insert it into your post - it should look something like this:

{img]http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2012/4/7/350496_sm-Cowboy1.jpg[/img}

(I have replaced the [ with { in order to show the code). The image should then display within your post. If you want to link to an external hosted pic then the same is true - enclose the URL to the image within the img /img tags.
