For the longest time I kept to my Cryx and kept my faction ADD in check. Cracks started to appear though when I purchased a bit of Cygnar, but then sold them later. A few boxes of Searforge, but offloaded those before I even assembled them. Then I dove deep into Khador, and considered that my section faction. Several casters, multiple full units, even the Konquest. I've picked up some Circle since then, but I can't really be blamed for that one, as I pretty much got it 75% off from a Black Friday sale... Now I'm trading all that Khador (except Konquest) for an almost equal amount of Retribution stuff. Talking to someone last night and realizing I was getting into my FIFTH "second" faction, I have to admit that I have a problem... Why must I want to play EVERY SINGLE FACTION!?!!

cryx is very fun to play in my opinion, but i also have some khador, menoth, circle, legion and cygnar armies, i like variety when I play, i use to stick with just cryx, but people avoided played against me because they hated playing against cryx.

Oh man, do I empathise.
Started with Cygnar, then realised I prefered Hordes.

Bought Trolls, stuck with them for a while. The suddenly changed to Legion last year. Painted some of that. Then Gators. Now I've bought Kromac the Ravenous, and I know that means Circle.

Luckily, I hate Skorne models so that's not a risk, but I have barely played a game in the last three years!

I started with Circle, but since picking up the Primal Mk II book and reading the stories I've been really tempted to try Trollbloods. Skorne also look pretty neat! And Gatormen are cute.

The person who said the primary purpose of the 40k books is to "stimulate the imagination" was so right. These ones do it too.

oh, how I understand...

I have Circle and Cryx as "main" factions, and for these only I already purchase more stuff than I have time to get practice playing with.

Then, I constantly look at other factions for stuff I like the models, or seems fun to play. I'll try to keep myself from purchasing random stuff, and until now, I've conceded myself just the Vessel and stuff to reach 35pts.
This could be the way to go: not collecting whole factions, but small forces I would like to play. So I can get a bit of everything avoiding selling house, or needing an extra room just to keep my stuff, or getting more stressed by the stuff waiting to be painted.

I think its that every faction have lovely appeal.

I've got almost all I can for Menoth now (just need a colossal) and alotta Mercs, I'm moving on to my next faction and am torn between Cygnar, Legion and Circle... And Ret... And Trollbloods... And Skorne...

So yeah, bloody great game!

I'm pretty decent about this. I get urges to play other factions, build lists for them and think about how cool they'd be to field. Then look at my piles upon piles of unpainted/partially painted menites and decide against it.

I did recently pick up some circle, which I'll hopefully have painted in time for my game day this weekend.

I'm currently eye-baling Ret, Cygnar, Dwarves & Legions. Think I'll be able to control myself though. I still want to try out High Reclaimer, Reznik & Vindictus a bit more before I start doing more. Maybe even a 2nd circle list.

Every time I go to the FLGS I stare at the other armies and fight the urge to go order them.

Hehe we solved the Faction hopping in my gaming group by always keeping all our armies down at the club.. We are 12 and every faction is represented.. And we own most of the models for them... We are all friends so we have them on or own shelf.. and they are free to use by anyone of us that are there playing.. This means I can play any faction I want at any time... This setup also makes us become much better at the game faster...

Ever since I decided to be a WM/H player instead of a "Cryx" player life is much easier. And I think I have become a better player because I am more familiar with how the other factions work.

Why tie yourself down to one or two factions when there are lots of cool factions and PP has designed it that it isn't too hard to dabble and play each faction?

Through the looking glass

My first real force was circle, and I'm slowly trying to get every unit in the faction. As for trying other factions...

Cygnar - Gun mages? Hell yeah! Def have an eye on starting them
Khador - I like the doom reavers, nothing else
Cryx - I like undead stuff, but friend plays them already and I don't like the reception the army gets from a goodly amount of players. Prolly run the pirates if anything.
Retribution - Friend already plays them, but I've always loved "angry elves". Maybe.
Minions - I share my name with captain Shae, almost anyways. A pirate force would be cool, and I love the character in the units
Convergence - No, no, hell no. I like Victorian and steam punk styles, but those models are fugly.

Trolls - As awesome as their garg looks, most of the line is ugly.
Everblight - Same as cryx. Not many like playing them. I like some of the designs, but not enough.
Skorne - Same as convergence, only I find them ugly as sin in the line AND the artwork.
Minions - Gators look pretty snazz, but I'm hesitant because my main is circle, I already run around with anthro animals. Seems semi redundant.

Whoops! Thought I was missing someone, then realized who. Didnt think I'd be found out, lol

Not big on menoth purely from a fluff perspective. I like the models, but I hate the religious fanatics trope.
