So, I decided to pick up a Retribution of Scyrah battlebox and I had a few questions.

On the crunch side, how should I generally run them? I heard that their warjacks are either specialists or really good generalists but I wasn't sure. What do I get after the battlebox?

On the fluff side, is it lore friendly that I give them a different color scheme than what is presented on the box or are they pretty uniform in their heraldry? I wanted to give them a metallic silver/blue scheme.

Any help with running these elven extremists would be greatly appreciated!

I don't play RoS myself, but I believe the jack they swear by is the Phoenix. Reach, Arc Node, Combustion for clearing infantry, and P+S 17 which is pretty much as good as it gets unbuffed in the faction.

The Arcanist is a pretty useful solo. It can Repair jacks, buff their damage output, or give out extra focus to them. Fragile, though. Actually, I think all of their solos are well-regarded except for Nayl.

Mage Hunter Strike Force might be the most highly regarded infantry in the faction. They put the hurt on jacks, the unit attachment lets them threaten your opponent's backfield, and the Battle Mage Artificer solo prevents them from taking blast damage. It's a pretty good setup.

For painting your minis, paint them whatever colors you want. There is very little focus on developing a background for your army in WM/H.

The problem with their Jacks is that most of them are Too generalist. They get a decent gun and decent melee, but don't really do either really well. Phoenix gets the good rep because his sword is a bit better than decent, making him our best melee Jack, and he's an Arc Node, and he has the best Force Field in the faction. So he's good, but still not Amazing. Discord is gets a ton of love for her Imprint and her ten inch spray as well. People also tend to like the Vyre Jacks because they got nicer guns typically and don't rely on Force Fields. I myself have been fond of the Griphons as well.

Get two Arcanists. They're really useful.

Strike Force are nice, but a bit over rated. I'm finding All their units useful. Just depends on the situation you want to put them in.

I notice a lot of ROS players use magehunters as a crutch. Not saying they are bad, but they rely on them so much that if you can deal with them the rest of the army falls apart.

I would definitely play them if I played Ret, but you need to make sure the rest of your army does stuff as well. Don't overly rely on them because there is plenty of stuff that deals with them.
